I have been going to games since 1971. Today was one of the worst RU home games I have ever seen. We got destroyed on the boards and Nebraska although bigger than us were not monsters in size. No one seemed to box out and we got destroyed on the boards. Nebraska got anything they wanted. Our outside defense was rarely near a shooter and when near a defender rarely had their arms up. Our power forward who I think is stronger than any guy on Nebraska only had 1 rebound. The only player on our team today that I thought played a decent game was Mike Williams. Nebraska was favored by only 4 points and we fell behind 14-2 with only 3 minutes into the game. It seemed like Nebraska wanted to get their first BIG win and we just went through the motions. On a day when we honored our 1976 Final Four team we showed absolutely no pride at all. I don't really see realistically how we have a chance in any of our next 5 games. This is really sad. I don't see how we could be competitive with Monmouth and Indiana and show nothing against Nebraska. As a season ticket holder for over 25 years I think we deserve much better. I like Eddie but something is wrong.
We were losing even with Freeman, Laurent and Diallo. I think we have some talented players and hope they stay around but the team must show some signs of progress. I am glad we got a commit today but we need 3 more too and our injured players to be healthy next season.

Injuries aside, our talent level is so far below big ten standards and that is on the coaching staff. But worse than failure to recruit, is failure to get this team to show up and look fundamemtally sound time and time again. Too many strikes against Eddie to let him continue.

A new coach can build this quicker than Eddie can at this point, and Eddie has been here for 3 years.... 3 more years of Eddie or start new and in year 3 with the new hire I think we'd be seeing more success

I will grant you Eddie has not recruited well but you are crazy if you think Coach K could have won with Rutgers roster tonight . If we had Corey and Nigel Johnson as our guards with Mike Williams coming off the bench, then Freeman, Doorson and Grier to start and Foreman and Lewis off the bench we could compete. Stop with your stupidity. Offer a damn solution. I am at a loss . I would rather have Freeman and Doorson redshirt and have them available for two years for Freeman and three years for Doorson.. Without any height and with Greg Lewis as our only big guy we are doomed. It sucks!! We can only hope n xt year is better. We need to recruit diff rent type of players but that is a catch 22 since who the hell would come here? The administration failure over the last 25 years have left us with this cluster - Uck and not sure how we get out.

Our players are flawed, lack heart, pride, IQ,tenacity. I honestly believe Eddie has tried to coax it out of them, but he has failed. Most great coaches will tell you they win because they have good players. We do not have enough good players and that has to do with last 25 years of neglect . True hard reality it sucks but true!!!

Folks are taking the injuries into account. No one is saying this squad should be winning or highly competitive against most BE teams, but the combination of total lack of heart/effort and losses of historical and epic proportions (allowing, for instance, an 8-8 Nebraska team it's largest margin of victory on the road in 96 years) has people understandably doubting Eddie's capabilities as a coach.

Except we saw this in 2013 with plenty of decent players. And last yer during the wth losses and 15 game losing streak.

Yea, I know some Cubs fans. Yeah and unlike you I still go to games and play dearly and support the program. I am as frustrated as anyone, and the Nba style Eddie is using is not working. But trying to judge him with 4 guys out and the rest of the roster limited I except Corey, is not fair either. I do not like what is happening but the remaining players have to play better, shoot better, and play defense and rebound better. It is that simple now.

Hi Art! I watched the game last night with my dad ( he says hi) and we were appalled at the pathetic effort. It got so bad I turned off the game and watched a bad KC Chiefs game. I root for EJ to succeed but just don't believe he's the right guy. Granted Rutgers has suffered injuries to its bigs and lacks facilities but that's no excuse for the effort displayed last night on the court from everyone but Mike Williams. No motivation, no rebounding, no boxing out, no defense, no help on defense, selfishness on offense and lots of one-on -one play. That's on Eddie. I don't know how he can stand there, watch this garbage, and not react in total disgust and anger. This team just doesn't show any emotion or caring. Lack of leadership on and off the court from the top on down...Probably the most damning thing is player development seems to be lacking and player motivation continues to be a problem as in past years. Not good...

we can see what happens with a new coach just as easily and maybe start to recruit with a new coach. He is not making the NIT next year, teams don't go from 6 wins to 18 in one season. This is his roster, his lack of recruiting showing. The injured guys you speak of besides Freeman have never been difference makers. Yes they would help but our inside game was awful earlier this year. Don't discount losses in production from the 3 we lose, yes not all that good but who is replacing their scoring. Are you buying that Nigel Johnson is the Magic Johnson savior. I have seen pretty much every single major school transfer here fail since Dabbs the last one that produced.

Fans are desperate for a quick fix and just changing coaches every 3-4 years hasn't worked.Facilities and recruiting must be at the top of the list for improvement.Holding players accountable for their performance is essential for future success.Hiring a head coach/staff who can get players to over achieve has occurred for short periods with prior coaches but there has still been the missing link to the NCAA Tournament.Without success doom and gloom become the norm and everybody that matters,ie,recruits and donors tune out.
