Alabama - 3 players arrested in 4 days

I find it a bigger shame that someone like Jones is being lumped together and punished to the same extent (within the program) with someone like Jonathan Taylor. Domestic abuse and weed possession should not ever be remotely close to being categorized together. I don't blame that on Saban since he was arrested and was most likely dealing since he had scales but the laws need to be changed because it's pretty absurd that cops are wasting time arresting people for weed possession/paraphernalia in 2015.

Yea but, they were 4* players.

SC- I get the point that having weed and abuse are 2 entirely different things but... On the other hand, dealing? Not in the same conversation

Suspended indefinitely....or until Saban has a better feel for the talent on his RB depth chart.

You are probably right. Misbehavior of Alabama athletes likely has little impact on the parents of NJ athletes who might be considering Alabama as their college football destination. Boys will be boys stuff ...

eh, not really going to school -- too much time on their hands, no wonder they get in trouble.

and, Go Cats !!

Has anybody looked into the # of SEC players arrested over the years versus other conferences? I wonder if there is a material difference?

It's amazing how bad things always happen at Alabama to redshirt sophomores who are third on the depth chart right around spring cuts.

Nick Saban to Tuscaloosa PD: "Time to trim those scholarship numbers, boys!"

The reality of it is that you could go through any Power 5 roster and point out players that have absolutely no business in college and are on scholarship due only to their athletic skills. Both football and especially basketball players are denied to earn a living in the professional sport they excel in straight out of high school due to various laws and regulations. College football (in this case) is BIG BUSINESS first and foremost. The fix all solution: I don't have one but gave up throwing stones a long time ago.

Do you think a parent of a player considering Alabama or any football factory really cares??

correct!

Any parent that would allow their kid to go to Alabama and they are not from Alabama, well it is clear that they are only thinking about football and do not care at all about education. Some parents are delusional and think that their sons are going to the NFL and don't need a degree.

This is why there should be year round football practice! No time to do dealing when you got double practices 8 month a year.

Did Nick Saban reinstate Jonathan Taylor? What are the penalties for false reporting?

Don't know the woman's relationship with Taylor, but this from the NYT article ... which would simplify things for Taylor and help his future earnings potential if the NFL is a possibility.

"Kathryn Boortz, an Atlanta criminal defense attorney focused on family violence, said the woman's recantation makes getting a conviction difficult if a decision is made to still pursue the charges."

NYT - Woman Recants Allegation ...
