Saw that. We were a tougher out against Bama (game could’ve gone either way in the final minutes) and UNC was at home. Encouraging.
UNC has lost to 4 ncaa type teams already and their only win pf note is a two point win over Dayton
They have games vs Florida and UCLA coming up later this month and almost have to win one of those or their resume is going to be garbage going into ACC play.

Alabama and UNC have played the 2 hardest schedules in the country and it is not close. Alabama looked like a NCAA champion last night. We went toe to toe with them and should have won the game. If that doesn’t encourage some of the negative posters on this board who comment on our team , nothing will. UNC is shooting like crap , RJ Davis is trying too hard and shooting like crap , and they have the worst bigs Carolina has had ever. They do have Ian Jackson and Drake Powell , 2 more fabulous freshman from this outstanding draft class and if stubborn Hubert plays them more , they will right the ship a little. 4-4 has their fan base up in arms.

A bunch of young kids who thought they could waltz in to a mid major's gym and blow them out on talent alone vs a team playing their game of the year in front a raucous packed house. Huge scheduling mistake and I think most of us knew it the day it was announced
They could not stop or guard Dylan . We got a terrible bad break with z Jeremiah fouling out with 10 minutes to go as he would have contained Sears better. But he already had 10 points and would have been our third scorer. ACE was also unguardable as he was able to get whatever shot he had. With Jeremiah fouled out , Acuff got beat 5 times for layups as Pike was forced to play him more.
But if Zack doesn’t have the worst 2 minutes at the end of the half , missing a wide open 3, then missing the layup hen he was barely fouled , then missed the 2 foul shots , and then loses the ball under a minute and has to dive to get the tie up and although we retain possession we lose the possession coming out of the half. We should have been up 5 at the half not tied at 41.
Then Jordan tries too hard to be a hero and misses a dunk when all he had to do was lay it off the glass and of course Alabama gets the runout in transition and Sears hits a wide open three for a 5 point swing. Not to mention the wide open 3 he missed that would have tied it 91.
If Any one of these little things and any little contribution from our other players happen , we win.

Every player is guardable. We didn't have the lead once during 15 final minutes. We could have won, but not sure how you can say we should have won.
You are just ignoring some things that some really important people said and I watched the game live in person. Nate Oates did a whole presser saying they tried everybody on Dylan and no one could stay in front of him and stop him. So they tried to double him with Nelson and he split the double team and went in for the dunk. It was an All American performance. I guess you were not there like me or the other 1000 fans but there was not 1 minute in that game that anyone thought Alabama was going to win. Alabama was lucky to win and their coach without coming out and saying it directly implied it in his post game presser. Our supporting cast made some terrible decisions basically being unguarded with no one around , like missing a layup and 2 free throws with no one guarding him or an uncontested fundamental layup that turns into a failed disastrous dunk attempt.
Anyone including Alabama fans left that arena saying Rutgers should have won the game.

According to some on the board, the Kennesaw State loss (road) and the lack of impressive wins against "named" teams leave us as "nobodies."
Rutgers never even tied the game. They weren't lucky to win. Some players on RU made plays and others didn't. We got smashed on the defensive glass. We had trouble defending Alabama just like they had trouble defending us
I mean, as of now, we are nobodies, just two talented freshmen. Need to pile up some wins to be somebody.
Sort of. My guess is that since we started the season ranked and have some star power, if we reel off a few wins we will jump up the rankings a lot faster than we are used to. At least the human rankings.
For the computer rankings every little bit helps and goes into the calculation.
What game did you watch? Rutgers was leading for the first 7 minutes of the game until 13:11 left in the half. Bama’s biggest lead in the first half was 6 points with 9:41 left in the half. Then nip and tuck and Rutgers actually took a 5 point lead with 2:26 left in the half , then up 4 with 2 minutes and 2 with 1:06 and then tied at the half. Martini’s missed 3 with 1: 15 left in the half that would have stretched RU lead to 7 , then his missed layup and 2 missed free throws with 23 seconds would have given RU the lead at the half. What do you mean RU never had the lead ?
Second half teams went back and forth trading points with RU with the lead at 16:42 left . Then one of the key plays of the game Hordan’s missed dunk at 15:37 leading to Sears three and the 5 point swing do instead of up 2 we are down 3.
Bama then hits another 3 to go up 6 and they maintain their lead only as high as 8 points at the under 12 timeout , Bama’s lead 3 at the under 8 timeout and then Dylan completes the 3 point play to cut it to 2 points with 7:16 left. At the 6:34 mark Ogbole misses the dunk from Ace. Bama is up 6 at the under 4 timeout at 3:50 left . Bama up 1 at 2:23 left . Up 3 with 2:01 left and Jordan missed the wide open 3 with 1:31 left that would have tied the game at 91. Despite that Acuff only makes 1 of 2 foul shots to cut it to 2 and we get the stop and Dylan missed for the first time in a while at 46 seconds that would have tied it. Despite that Bama is up 3 at the line and misses and we can’t get the rebound that would have given ifs a chance to tie.
That is from the play by play. Rutgers had multiple leads in the first half and early in the second half. The most Bama led by was 9 and under 4 minutes it was a 1 possession or 2 possession game.
Sometimes facts don’t even make a difference to you but worse yet you weren’t in the arena and had no feel of the game or the crowd that was pro RU. All of our loyal fans that made the trip thought we were winning that game. Sorry you didn’t think so 3000 miles away.
