The BARBIR OF PISCATAWAY !!!!

Welcome aboard and enjoy your years on the Banks !

This is from his kicking coach.

"I personally witnessed 80-yard kickoffs from him with 4.4 hang time. I think Alex could be a difference maker for Rutgers. I have the utmost confidence that Alex could come in and be a freshman All-American when he comes to Rutgers. He has the strength, the accuracy and the drive."

Will he be the highest-rated K recruit landed at RU? I think Federico was a 3* slightly higher rated than Ito.

Great summary Bobby. A first hand observation that speaks well and will result in several wins for the program.

Welcome to the Banks Mr. Barbir!
Great news! Looking forward to watching you seal the deal in some B1G games!

He wrote in his commitment that he's going to be a "Skarlet Knight".... Oops

Great to have a kicker that consistently can put the ball out of endzone and force the touchback! Nothing better at end of a close game and you no there's no chance for a kick-6!

Welcome to the banks!

From a Todderick article :

"In light of Alex Barbir's Rutgers commitment, let's examine what the South Forsyth(Cumming, Ga.) specialist can add to the program.

For this installment of our Rutgers commit analysis feature, we reached out to former Rutgers specialist Lee McDonald, now a highly-respected kicking coach, and director/founder ofSpecial Teams Solutions.

McDonald coached Barbir, rated a 4.5-star byChrisSailerKicking.com, at the 2015 Rutgers Specialist Camp where he firstearned his Rutgers offer."

Strengths

Barbir's fast leg, athletic frame and the benefit of year-round training in a warm climate should allow him to be ready in 2016 upon the graduation of current Scarlet Knights kicker Kyle Federico.

On field goals, Alex has above average accuracy, gets great lift on the ball and has 55+ yard range. The lift and accuracy, while under pressure, are essential for any specialist to have a chance to contribute immediately.

For kickoffs, Alex possesses the monster leg one needs to put the ball deep in the windy confines of High Point Solutions Stadium. By staying tall through the ball and transferring his weight down-field, Alex's hang time will continue to improve negating lengthy kick returns.

Areas for improvement

Before arriving on campus, Alex will need to continue to develop and tweak his mechanics to be that much more consistent. Specifically, he needs to get his hips square and drive more up and through the ball and down his target line.

He will also need to adjust to the less than ideal weather conditions of the Northeast and the Big Ten conference.

Synopsis

Overall, Scarlet Knights fans should be excited to have a kicker of Barbir's caliber on board. As Rutgers continues to close the gap in the Big Ten, look for the kicking game to be the deciding factor in close contests.

ALEX, you rock !!!! Glad you'll be the big booted foot we need to win over the traditional powerhouses, you are an instrumental piece to the future of the program.

Also, a good place to get a degree from too, welcome to the banks. You're gonna love it

Awesome news. I guess my riding around Cumming with my block R's and R U Fan license plates helped do the trick lol. Welcome to R Family Alex.

Wow, does this fill a huge, gaping, long standing hole. We've need a consistent field goal & kick off man for a long time. Sounds like this young man will be what the doctor ordered. Congratulations Barbir. All the best at RU.

Congratulations Barbir!

Can't wait for you to cause "Pandemonium in Piscataway 2.0, 3.0, 4.0.. etc." when you hit the game winning field goals!
