All Big Ten Tournament Scenarios

With today's win by Indiana, Rutgers will face either Indiana or Ohio State in the opening round of the tournament. Looks like the opponent comes own to Michigan at Nebraska tomorrow night.

So if Michigan beats Nebraska, we play OSU.

If Michigan loses, we play Indiana.

Who do we want?

Do not want Indiana...do not think offensively we can keep pace...even though they do not play much defense, RU still struggles with consistency on offense...would rather see OSU

Nope, M wins we get OSU. N wins we get IND. Looking at each of the two games against those teams we played, seems obvious to want OSU... so sadly, today go blue (no offense husker)

Haha, don't apologize for wanting what would be best for your team. I think 80% of NU fans are hoping UM wins by 100 so they will fire the coach. Most say he will get 1 more year and winning a first round NCAA game is a must for him to stay but most want him gone now.

I don't know how well Nebraska did last season overall, or how recruiting is going in terms of the near future, but this season I see a lot of similarities between NU & RU. I can't believe how many games have been so close for the Huskers this year. Like RU, a couple things different and could just as easily be an NCAA bubble team. So I don't know what the coaching answer is but if I was NU I wouldn't do anything just yet, seems to be moving in the right direction.

Don't count on it. The big money hoops guys want him gone. He has done a good job of recruiting but is a terrible gameday coach. The AD gave him the ole' "vote of confidence" about 3 weeks ago and they have done nothing but embarrass themselves since. They are a young team and have 2 5* transfers sitting out for next year and only lose 1 player. If everyone stays(which won't happen, Miles has more turnover than a bakery) they would have a pretty good team with the right guy leading them.

When you spend $300mil on an arena and practice facilities, you better produce or GTFO. I think they give him 1 more year but would not be surprised if he is fired tomorrow if they lay another egg today.

he brought a bad program with little success to the NCAA a few years ago, I would say you guys didnt have high expectations this year anyhow yet he got the team to knock off some top programs. Its very hard to move up in this league. Nebraska is in line with PSU, Northwestern and RU than the other 10 in the Big 10 in poor history and trying to break through. You say he has transfers coming in to play next year well HE brought them in, he should be able to see what he can do with them right. Be careful what you wish for in trying to switch coaches too soon for a program that has done virtually nothing over time. I would say give him next year to get the team above 500. What is his contract situation? If he has to be extended this year than that might be another issue

Osborne did his typical hire on the cheap with Miles(Osborne is 0-4 in head coaching picks). There was a lot of interest in the job when Miles was hired and there still is because of the fan base and facilities. If you don't go to the NCAA's in about 4 out of 6 years BU will fire your ass and rightfully so. NU invests tons of money in sports and don't/won't put up with just having a team in any sport.

Miles was not given an extension even though it is a year where one would be given if positive he was going to be retained. He was said to have to make the NCAA's this year to keep his job but lost 3 starters to injury for most of the conference schedule and some thought he would be given a pass for the results but he got everyone back 3 games ago and has been a disaster since.

I personally don't care what they do with him. I gave up my hoops tickets because of his poor coaching 3 years ago when all the best players transferred because he wouldn't let them "play". He want to have a "Hoosiers" style and kids don't work that way today.

He has done nothing really at NU. Even a blind sow finds an acorn every now and then.
