I have been watching the scores of all of our games against B1G teams and we have not done very well. Our combined win-lost record has got to be well below the 500 level. It appears we need to improve in all of our sports programs. Plus our neighbors to the south have done much better than we have our fist year.

Administration told us up front prior to July 1, 2014 (first day in the B1G) that football was the most Big ready and we will play catch up with most other programs save for womens basketball. If this catches anyone by surprise, it was already communicated

We aren't competitive in the areas that direct relate to wins and losses. Facilities and support of the programs is where it all starts. Outside of football, there isn't one sport I can think of where we are on par. In some cases, we aren't close to where we need to be.

Until that changes, it is going to always be an uphill battle across the board.

I would suggest wrestling and women's basketball -- along with softball -- were just fine, and certainly at least as good as football in terms of being "Big Ten ready."

Problem, of course, is that it's an amazing wrestling conference.

We knew going in we were going to be up against it in most sports, and that it would take some time to even be taken seriously in some of them. Concerned? Of course. Angst-ridden? Nope. It was supposed to be like this.

Wrestling, forgot about that one. I don't know much about it at RU, but looking at the website and other team's, it looks like we have all of the coaching positions filled. That is more than can be said for other sports. Lax for instance is down at least one coaching (Director of Operations) position, and I believe two. Starting to see top programs with a paid position for video coordinator, which gets filled by another coach.

This stuff all helps get wins.
