Anyone hire Al Golden yet?

Schiano's ESPN analyst job just opened up.
He should do that - rehab his image - demonstrate that he is an intelligent & insightful guy - -
- right now he is pretty toxic - at this point even if an AD liked him - it would burn a lot of good will with the respective fan base if that AD installed Golden to run a program

Golden blows. Everyone knows it, minus 3 people here.

might be a bit harsh - but no way ....no how would I want him -

just looking analytically from a distance - he is in need of serious image rehab

- but he does have the potential to become one of 'those guys' ... one of "the usual suspects" when coaching names come up - and then maybe - one who heads up a middling program for a few years & then moves on to a slightly higher one if he is fortunate -

Hey I still think he would have been good here . He would have got us to the 6-8 win range consistently and upgraded the talent in the program . I didn't see him as a long term guy here more than 5 years . But RUinsanity you can blow my leaves anytime

I think Plum Street put him on retainer last week to cut his lawn, leaf blowing and odd jobs.

And I'll add, I'm so glad he's not here and I think Ash was a much better choice.

6-8 wins.

Impressive.

Probably stay out for two years with his Miami severance and then accept DC position in college.

Plum, with QB/WR a major question next year- plus, what does Longa do...2016 may be another 5ish win season regardless of who coaches but, I am going to go on record that from 17 on, Ash will have on target to be a Iowa type program. And that certainly isn't a 6-8 win team.

Really ? He could barely get Miami...with its talent and recruiting base and ACC schedule to 6-8 wins.
I think he would have been no better here than Flood.

It was amazing to read the people on this board that wanted to hire Al Golden over anyone else. Chris Ash might not have the HC experience of Golden, but he comes to Rutgers fairly unscathed and well respected among coaching peers. He has put in the work and the rewards of it are beginning to open up. I know these men are two different personalities, but I'm thankful that Rutgers is going to give Chris Ash an opportunity. I don't think they'll regret it. I hope the fans will feel the same way eventually. Well, those that were supporting Golden over Ash.

Yeah because no coach was ever better after being fired ! . Listen i am supporting ash and hope he gets it done here . I think I even prefer him over golden , but i think people are wrong that golden would have been awful here . I think he would have been competent .

We don't know whether Golden will fit that criteria as of yet. Hopefully, the man bounces back. He might have to take a coordinator job or perhaps, another school will look to hire him. As of yet, he still doesn't have a coaching job. That could change!

I never said that Golden would be awful at Rutgers. I just believe that Rutgers did an awesome job in hiring Chris Ash. They were thinking outside of the box with the hire. I don't have any doubt that Golden would be competent, but after looking at their criteria---it would seem that Al Golden wasn't wanted at Rutgers.

We will start to see how things will go beginning in the off-season for Rutgers. The Spring game should be interesting!

Some of our fan base needs to mature. This college football thing is new to them.
