Arkansas player suspended from Belk Bowl after shoplifting at...Belk

The bowl trophy presentation ceremony could be a bit awkward if Arkansas wins.

On Thursday we learned that Arkansas tight end Jeremy Sprinkle was suspended from the Belk Bowl.

Read the fine print, and we learned that Sprinkle was suspended for shoplifting...

from Belk...

Which is a department store, for those previously unaware...

Which is sponsoring the bowl game that he would have been playing in...

For which as a participation gift, players receive a shopping trip to...

Belk.

Happy New Year.

He probably got away with shoplifting back in Arkansas on more than one occasion, just like Jameis Winston and the crab legs, so maybe he thought that is how all department stores work.

In the end, everyone made out.

Belk caught a shoplifter, so they didn't lose any merchandise. They also saved $450 since they don't have to give Sprinkle his gift.

NFL teams got a look at the character (and intelligence) of Mr. Sprinkle.

Jeremy Sprinkle (hopefully) learned a very important life lesson... though I'm sure he would have preferred not to learn it from jail.
