So... what's the story?

Has Peter Kissed off?

Doesn't he deserve another chance on O...if he can shoot and hit a few it's worth it if he's #10 or #11 option.

Thoughts?

Kiss should play some mins.Young should play for defensive match ups only.

It’s simple. There are 1 of 3 things going on with kiss

1) He is injured or has a physical issue
2) some sort of off the court issue (grades, classes ext...)
3) he has thrown in the towel and him and pike have agreed he won’t be back next year and he is just going through the motions attending games.

Kiss was horrible last season. We have a better roster now and he’s been bypassed. Keep him on the pine.

Nothing I’ve seen of him suggests he should be in the rotation at all. Same for Doucoure, except in the cases of foul trouble for Johnson/Carter.
Carter has not done enough to completely distance himself from Duke on the depth chart. Today was an example.

Didn’t pike say 2 years ago something like kiss was one of the best players in practice and was going to upgrade the team?

It doesn’t make sense. Even guys at the end of the bench get garbage time. Kiss doesn’t even see time in blowouts.

This is what is odd about it. It’s one thing if he got passed over for playing time but the fact that he doesn’t even get garbage time is odd.

He must not be working hard enough in practice, it’s the only reason he wouldn’t be getting time in blowouts.

Still don’t get why it keeps getting brought up here. We have so many other guards deserving of minutes.

This isn’t odd. He’s not playing. I’m sure he and Pike talked and Pike will let him save his eligibility. I don’t understand why this is so difficult to understand. Not everyone plays

He already used his redshirt year.

question I have is what did Pike ever see in him that caused Pike to give him a scholarship in the first place?

This is underselling Kiss. He was below average last year but not so much so that he was wildly out of place.

Him and Issa were playing major minutes when we took down Miami on the road in impressive fashion. That seemed liked a LONG time ago. The earth was 1.5 degrees colder back then.

There have been a lot of wasted scholarships in previous years which is what happens with a losing basketball program.

.........and on better programs guys get over-recruited and leave or see the bench and stay there......and I'm guseeing that their fans don't create "Where's Waldo" threads about them after every game.

I was just thinking that his level of play was just not good enough to see the floor, but him not seeing any playing time at all when the rest of the bench is has me believing he is really in the dog house.
How long before Kiss has had enough?

Several times he’s out the door before I am after the game. Also noticed he’s not in the locker room pic after the Hall game.

Seems most likely. But that's not affected by how much he plays this season.
Did he play one or two years at Q? If he played two and then two for us he has no eligibility left, so no grad transfer option. Will double check about Q record
OK - played only one at Q so grad trans is an iotion

He played one.

2016-17: Freshman at Quinnipiac
2017-18: Redshirt at Rutgers
2018-19: Sophomore at Rutgers
2019-20: Junior at Rutgers

Isn't 2017-18 a sit out year because he was a transfer, not necessarily a redshirt year?

It counts the same. NCAA rules are you have five years to play four. Only time you get a sixth is for a medical redshirt.

I have assumed for some time that it is #3,

It's simple. When he was recruited to the team two years ago, he was would've been 8th off the bench. Sanders, Geo, Thiam, Freeman, and Doucoure were the starting lineup with top 2 off the bench Williams and EO. Last year, he was in the starting lineup for the first 11 games, they started the year off 6-5 and his impact when he was in the lineup was a +/- of pretty much zero impact (+0.7 avg) 9th on the team for the year.

This year, the 2 games he was in for 14 total minutes, he has -7.4 against Niagara and St. Bonaventure, Niagara 12-2 (+10) when he came in played 4 minutes 21-6(+15) net +5, 75-32 4 minutes to end game to 86-39 net +4, everyone had a plus that game. Down 9-15 (-6) to SBA played 6 minutes, down 15-34(-19) when he came out -13, we probably win that game if Kiss doesn't play, lost 74-80. He hasn't seen a minute since. I would have to say something happened in that game.
