I have read and heard several things comparing Ash to Schiano and I guess I get it.
-- Young, up and coming defensive coordinator from a top program
-- Small school linebacker himself
-- Coming into a difficult situation
-- No head coaching experience
-- Intense
I can see these similarities and maybe there are more I am missing. The biggest thing I noticed, however, in watching the presser today was the way Ash carries himself. From day one, I always thought of Schiano as cocky and arrogant. With Ash, I get more of a feeling of self assured and confident. It is a subtle difference, but I am much more impressed with Ash from the start. It's only one press conference, but I am excited for the future of RU football for the first time in a while.
