3-0 in the 7th....hold on fellas....(if we do then) THIS is what we needed to finally start doing this season: win the games, ALL THE GAMES, that we should win! But...MUST beat Iona midweek....MUST sweep Army next weekend....CAN'T let up!
Army is actually pretty good. They are 6-4 and took 2 out of three from UMD. Must sweep is a bit of a stretch there.

Haha what a joke! This team has already blown 2 leads in the 9th that were basically impossible to mess up. They win 2 outta 3 this series but come away feeling like it was lost.
I pulled up the statistics and it was the top of the eighth; we had the bases-loaded and nobody out with a 3–0 lead. The starting pitcher had only pitched to 4 batters above the minimum. After that, we failed to score, the bullpen takes over and gets beat up. I should have stayed away.
Maybe if they kept in the first relief pitcher instead of bringing in someone else in the ninth they would have won. Bad move.

You can use the same relief pitcher for more than three hitters.

Totally agree! Old enough to remember when starters went the distance if they were effective. Now we have the never ending relievers specialists who these coaches seem to think have to come in no matter what the situation. And...how long do you go with a guy who clearly is not closing out the game? How many hits and walks does he get? This is the third game that I can remember RU blowing late already. I would be really pissed if I were a player.
what ever happened to coaching instinct...gone the way of the model T, i'm guessing....let the kid start the ninth, and see were it goes. you can still trade a couple of dingers for outs......nothing against the present coach..just my gut tells me mr.cundari is waiting in the wings.
I was happy to hear the Maryland coach say the other day that he will (I'm paraphrasing) "use his closer to save the game whenever the game needs to be saved."
I think the pendulum is already swinging back to old school, where starting pitchers stay in the game longer (rather than bring in lesser pitchers from the bullpen based on arbitrary pitch count) and the best relievers are used when they are needed (rather than pitch the best reliever only in 9th innings to preserve 1-2 run leads).

Relievers should be able to pitch two. Wares has shown he can pitch. No reason to bring in another reliever. If a guy has his stuff, leave him in. This isn’t the pros where you have Chapman, Betancis, and Andrew Miller coming out of the pen
Just don't get people who laugh and find joy when we lose. Why are you even a fan?
