Crazy week for me....just wanted to share my thoughts and see what the board has to say:
1 - Yes....we had a tough game against Immaculatta....but our 2024 - QB - Rocco Rainone fumbled 4 times.....2 were returned for TDs.....1 was a walk in touchdown for Holy Trinity....the other fumble lead to a FG.......so 24 points !!!......and we still won.
Rocco NEVER fumbles.....I think he was nervous as was a bunch of the kids.
2 drops by Andre Kirton Jr - #2 - 2023 - Slot WR/CB
2 drops by Jayden Simpson - #3 - 2025 - WR
1 drop by Dylan Braithwaite - #9 - 2023 - WR - Rutgers Commit
2 - Jameer Reeder - I've been saying this for YEARS......he is the #1 Running Back in NY State....and now everyone in the area knows his name.
3 - Irvin Briggs - Rutgers wanted him as a Guard.....Irvin wants to play DE.....UConn is getting a steal.
4 - Despite 4 fumbles.....Rocco snapped out of it and lead the game winning drive with under 50 seconds left.....got the 2 point conversion....and won the game in over time.
Rocco has balls of steel....nothing phases him. His game is very similar to Steve Young with what he can do running and passing.
5 - Chris Bacon Jr - #11 - 6'3 - 230 - had a really nice game.....82 inch wingspan....D1AA offers but on the radar of some high academic D1 schools like Northwestern
6 - Nick Parisi - #56 - 6'1.5 - 223 - Did his thing....but its frustrating that teams don't run his way too often....wish they would flip him once in a while....but had a solid game overall.
Going Forward:
Keep an eye on #14 - 2025 - RB/MLB - Devon Gonzalez......he is the #1 Ranked RB in NY State at 5'10 - 210......he didn't get a carry because Jameer Reeder was on fire....he rotated into the LB mix with my son, Nick Parisi, Melan Williams, Jameer Reeder and Hopeton James (#17)
Keep an eye on #79 - 2024 - Center - Justin Costa - (6'1 - 260) plays with good leverage and was blowing up the middle of the defense all game and all season.
#2 - Andre Kirton Jr - 2023 - Slot WR/CB - had a very good game as everyone focuses on Josiah Brown and Dylan Braithwaite.....he is a shifty 5'7 - quick twitch athlete that should be very productive at the D1AA level.
Keep an eye on #58 - Zayden Michel - 2023 - 6'2 - 245 - DE - the kid tore his ACL last season but is back and 100%......the injury screwed up his recruitment. I'm taking him to the Iowa game to introduce to the staff......Zayden would love a walk on spot....his uncle is a professor at Rutgers.....However, I think Zayden will land a D1AA offer at the end of the season.
