Didn't Graber have a long winning streak at Rutgers stadium too? I seem to recall he never lost there, but that was because all of our bigger opponents demanded Giants Stadium.

Doug Graber won his first 12 Rutgers Stadium games between 1990-1994 and went 16-4 overall there. He went 7-8 at Giants Stadium including four in a row between 1992-1993.

Some fans wonder why were we at Giants Stadium so much. The New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority helped Rutgers out with the new stadium. In return, Rutgers agreed to "pay back" NJSEA with games played at Giants Stadium in the 1980s and 1990s.

man, that's quite a stat. Imagine if he could have just gone 500 on the road I suppose. No wonder i liked the guy so much. Not only his great personality but you really never SAW him lose since so many of those away games weren't on TV.

A defensive coach in the NFL, Graber's Ds got worse and worse. He recruited marginal students who couldn't cut it at Rutgers... so the talent level ultimately dropped during his time here. We would have been better off without the good athletes who were academic risks because they left holes in their recruiting classes. We would have been better off with the student-athletes we were getting under Burns and Anderson. Graber did some winning with Anderson's recruits. After Graber, Shea arrived and announced the "cupboard was bare".. he then proceeded to burn the cupboard.

The whole 1993 home schedule was played at Giants Stadium while Rutgers Stadium was being reconfigured and expanded.

We also had to play some games there to meet the attendance requirements for Div 1A. We only held 23K on campus at the time.

I saw every one of those at home wins. A great time for RU FB. We weren't playing "name teams" but the kids played good FB ,the games were enjoyable and my buddy and I had season ,high up(ZZ) seats. Life was good.
