He is a huge RU lax fan. He was texting my buddy the whole game for updates tonight.
He is too. He grew up a huge lacrosse fan and played the sport in high school and college. He goes to a few games every year and is good friends with the Hopkins coach.

Not name dropping at all. Just thought it interesting. Seems like others do too. If your impressed by someone who knows someone who knows someone, that says more about you than me.
But yea, BB was. But to answer the question, my buddy was a 4x All American from Hopkins. BB and he met years ago and became friends, likely through Hopkins coach who is good friends with BB. My buddy follows RU because Coach Brecht coached him in high school and they are friends too. Lacrosse is cool like that.
BB has been spotted in RU lax gear more than once. Hopkins too.

You all know his son played LAX here at Rutgers, right? Then he went on to be a grad assistant with Schiano. Not so hard to believe his Dad knows people that Rutgers fans might know, is it?
The "only would Belichick do this" slant on this story is that sweater is like 5 years old. He wore it on the Football Life documentary NFL network did about him. He's really a normal guy who happens to have won 4 Super Bowls.
