T Hunt from nj.com says that we have the best shot at:
defensive end Mike Tverdov
Fairmont (W.V.) defensive tackle Darius Stills
Hilliard (Ohio) Bradley defensive end Brendan Bordner

Other guys RU is still actively targeting at this point:

Defensive tackles Fred Hansard and Corey Bolds, wide receiverMarkquese Bell, linebacker Drew Singleton, defensive back Harrison Hand, and possibly offensive tackle Carter Warren

Out of state guys include Avalon School (Bethesda, Md.) defensive tackle Axel Nyembwe, and St. John's College (Washington, D.C.) defensive end Tyree Johnson.

Tverdov from what ive seen is a done deal. I just hope we can pick up Hansard or Bolds. One would make me happy. I do not believe we get either at this point. I also think we nab Bell and Hand and Romello Martin from NY.

Lets go RU these next fews year are going to generate A lot of excitement.

From the linked article: "I think they have a solid shot at Bolds, Hansard, Johnson and Nyembwe. I think Singleton ends up at Clemson, and obviously, Bell has a number of suitors and will be tough to lock down, although possible."

For the last several weeks, I've been hearing so much buzz about: Hansard, Bolds, and Bell. It would be fairly disappointing not to get any of them. I understand that this is Todderick's prediction only (and I hope that he's wrong). But, it seems as though we were aiming for the stars in this recruiting class and - with everything else that Ash and Co. has done so far - it would be a shame not to be able to pull those guys in.

I'm not saying that that will or will not have some kind of hangover effect to next year's recruiting. But, it would seem that bringing in some of these stars should have an impact for next year's recruiting, as well.

If we get Tverdov and EITHER of Hansard/Bonds, I'd be happy. Gotta walk before we can run. For a coach with less than a year in the position, it's a tremendous start.

Just need to keep building, looking at the relationships he has built or repaired since getting here, I'm excited for the future.

It would be a shame if we don't pull in Hansard, Bolds and Bell? Hangover effect???

No offense, but your post is an example of fans easily getting spoiled. Yes, we do have a shot at Hansard, Bolds and Bell. BUT, if we don't get any of them, it wouldn't be disappointing by any stretch of the imagination. We have already matched our best recruiting classes - 2011 and 2012 .......... in June. Think about that for a second. Again ......... in June. At this point, anything else is gravy.

Also, Hansard, Bell and Bolds aren't the only ones that would impact 2018 - I'm pretty sure Melton, Clark, Fogg, Lewis, Taylor, Bowles, Vretman, etc would too. Not to mention Tverdov, Hand and Carter Warren (wink wink).

Re-read my post. I said that it would be "disappointing" because E V E R Y O N E O N T H I S S I T E has been talking about these recruits for weeks, nee months. Not in the manner of "we will definitely lock these recruits down" but more in the manner of "these are the only kinds of recruits we should have." If anything, they're the "spoiled" fans that you're referring to. But, I don't blame them (just as you shouldn't). There has been so much buzz surrounding our new coach since he got here, and everyone has been wondering just when he'll get started in transforming our program. And, based on the high of the 2012 recruiting class, leading in to the low of the Flood years, can you blame them?

I don't think Ash and Co. will turn us into a CFP team overnight, delivering nothing but 5-star recruits in every class. But, ask plenty of fans on this site (and, I don't just mean RutgersAl), and they'll tell you that 99% of Ash's cache is in the fact that he came from a CFP team (tOSU) and delivered entire defensive squads to the NFL. And, thus, ipso facto, he will do the same here. "Patience" has always been a mantra of mine (look back to my posts in '06 and '07).

Everybody wants a winner. Just some expect it sooner than others.

Some guys not mentioned - Dalyn Wade-Perry, Louis Acceus, Josh Fedd-Jackson, Exree Loe, Eddie Lewis.

Fedd-Jackson and Lewis we "might" not have room for anymore, Wade-Perry, Acceus and Loe all are looking to leave the state.

One name in OP that no one is paying attention to, Stills. A solid player in his own right but more importantly, his younger brother is a 4 star DT in 2018.

How about L'Jeron Holder out of Manalapan? 6'1 200lb fast with soft hands WR. Recently picked up a Temple offer

DWP is Stanford bound from what I've heard. If true good luck to him, at least it's not mich or psu.

Based on what I've heard Tverdov is not a done deal. Duke is very much in the hunt for him. He plans on taking his time. Hansard and Bolds have an issue (non football) that is limiting their opportunities with several schools. Would love to have either one, but that remains to be seen. Hand may be on the outside looking in with all the potential DB taken in 2016, 2017 and transfers. Rutgers will only have one DB graduating this year (Cioffi) and one next year (Hunt). Besides, Hand continues to wait on an Ohio State offer which is his dream school. Temple now becomes a real opportunity for him.

Fedd-Jackson and Lewis we "might" not have room for anymore, Wade-Perry, Acceus and Loe all are looking to leave the state.

Jackson and Lewis might have let a good opportunity pass them by because they are trying to taking in the whole experience. Both probably had Rutgers as #1, but so did several other guys at the same positions. Acceus IS NOT coming to Rutgers. He is either going to Maryland or UNC as a backup. Talking to him and watching what he has to say, it's Maryland this and Maryland that. I think that's a good indicator. example: What do you think of Rutgers? Well, Maryland is good school and so is Rutgers." What does Maryland have to do with the question and this has been happening often with Acceus.

Bell will be able to call his own shots.

Bottom line, this is a fluid situation and none of us really know except for Ash and the staff. We're getting a lot of second and third hand info.

I'm just curious as to why WVU hasn't offered Stills. His dad was a standout player for the Mountaineers before playing 10 seasons in the NFL. In this article from a year ago, Darius said:

"Knowing that my dad played for WVU makes my desire to play at WVU much larger because I want to make the legacy move on and follow my dad’s footsteps...my only interest for college football is WVU, I’ve been wanting to play at WVU since I started football...I just love the environment that the fans have. It makes me feel like I’m home when all I see is blue and gold around me.”

http://www.bluegoldsports.com/darius-stills-looks-to-continue-wvu-legacy/

WVU currently has 9 commits, none of which are DT's or DE's, and they got just one DT and one DE in the last class. The fact that WVU hasn't offered yet despite the legacy factor and the fact that his younger brother is a beast is a tad concerning to me, in addition to the fact that if they ever do offer he's likely Morgantown-bound.

Buff, good info as always. Wish it was more positive but I'm still thrilled with how things are going on the recruiting front. If this staff can coach as well as they recruit, RU has done a very good job with this hire.

I didn't know Johnstown was in NJ. Loe is from western PA, so I hope he does want to leave the state.
