Are any people with Rutgers background (or strong ties to the state of NJ) a part of Big Ten, Big Ten Network, or NCAA officialdom? Staffs, committees, officials, etc. It just seems that things never work out to Rutgers best interests. Always the short end of the stick. Is ex-Rutgers Chris Hill the closest thing to an administrator whose voice might be heard who might have some Rutgers sensitivity. I guess we should count Big Ten admission as a blessing and leave it at that ... sh*t rolls down hill and we are at the foot of multiple mountains.

The moral of the story is all of the organizations you mention care about 1 thing and 1 thing only - money. Putting Duke and UNC in the Greensboro region for the NCAAs helps them because they can sell more tickets. Giving an easier bracket for teams that travel well helps because they will play in more games and sell more tickets/merchandise.

However, it is a shame because I don't think some of these organizations, especially BTN, realize how big of a fanbase Rutgers has. It's no where near Michigan, OSU, PSU, or Mich State yet of course, BUT, as someone who has BTN on the TV a lot, it seems they even show more Purdue, Northwestern, Illinois etc. content than Rutgers. I find it hard to believe there are more of those fan bases watching than RU. Even Maryland gets all sorts of TV time. Rarely, unless it's specifically a Rutgers-oriented day (like Spring training) do we get mentions in anything. It's not just about winning, like I said these other schools with worse programs than ours and no one shows up to their games so I doubt they're watching BTN TV during the week, get more time.

I agree with your first paragraph but you're wearing Scarlet glasses with the second part that I bolded. We're easily the worst in both revenue sports as of today. You're delusional if you think otherwise.

I think a lot of it has to do with content. It is somewhat the same with Nebraska content. The BTN don't have much yet. Even Nebraska fans are sick of seeing the same Nebraska games over and over.

I would assume that as content grows so will your airtime and having teams in the upper 1/3 in the conference will help also. Nebraska pretty much stinks in most sports and our fans know that that is one reason we get bad start times for Olympic sports. Nebraska's volleyball team is on more than any other sport for Nebraska, and guess what, they are one of the premiere volleyball programs in the country. It definitely sucks right now but should improve over time.
