Wanted to pass along an event which the Rutgers Club of NYC president sent around today.

Event is officially hosted by the B1G and is a happy hour in NYC. 710 alumni attendees last year from the 14 B1G schools. The event plays into bragging rights by keeping a count of how many attend from each school. I was told Penn St typically dominates these type of events but RU shows up well. Would love to continue to show / prove how many RU alumn are in the media capital of the world.

Hopefully lots on this board who work in NYC / North Jersey might want to stop by for a drink and show your RU spirit and support in numbers.

Registration is FREE !

That's a tough call. I expect that a lot of the local Rutgers fans, even if they work in NYC, live across the river. A Thursday night, from 6 to 9, at the 79th St Boat Basin is not exactly convenient (versus a Friday night, or something Midtown or Downtown)

theres no reason why we cant pack this place and should make it a point to.

Is it limited to alumni only or is registration open to anyone?

Easy enough for anyone working in the city to get to that would be gettin out at that time...an hour tops on the train from new brunswick then a quick subway ride will get you there easily...or the best way being that we are so close is boat or wave runner and park at the dock...

Lets set up a boat party

Alumni event. If area RU alumni allow PSU alumni to dominate attendance, the blame is on RU alumni. Period. Come on folks. Show some spirit.

The event notice indicates it is for NYC-area B1G alumni.

Not sure if ur being a wise ass or not (as many on here are) but of course i understood that it says ALUMNI in it but was asking if you would need some aort of proof that you are alumni...

But in fact this is open to anyone...

So we should pack this place

Ill be there +4 non alumni +1 sparty

No reason why all of us should be bringin +++

Does not need to be alumni at all .. they just market it as such. Its essentially a networking happy hour. Or if you don't want to chat with people, its just simply an outdoor happy hour.

No Worries. OP provided a link to the event page, which offers a "Contact Us" feature. Shoot them an inquiry about the alumni-only concern.
