its been a while. I would assume there was a big game that had some meaning at some point in the Rice years but this might be the biggest game since RU played St Joes in the NIT and not sure how big that was since Waters was out the door.

haha...well we did make the NIT after that...beat PSU on the road and then had to play SJU on the road because Uncle Bob didnt want any RU home games and didnt want Waters going on a run...could you imagine if RU made the NIT final4 yet he was already canned

oh yeah...that was a bad one if I remember, we shot like crap and couldnt score at all, definitely laid a turd at home...did we bounce back to beat Notre Dame though a couple of days later..that team showed promise

Yup beat ND on a Monday night at home but kinda tanked after that. We did win at Seton Hall in what turned out to be rice's last regular season game.
The ND monday night win was actually the previous year. We played ND about a week after the Cincy loss and lost to ND on the final play when Eli got called for a charge which was BS

This is only a big game if we win.

If we lose, it is just an expected loss.
Winning is the only thing that matters in sports especially against a local rival who competes for the same NJ recruits.

I watched on TV. Looked like a lot of people but they never really showed the crowd. I never saw a SHOE pep band. The fans>>>they didnt pan the audience much>>>>they showed what I think was the student section & they just looked small in numbers and odd>>>>>>>the announcers were obvious Shoe-ins but they did compliment Rutgers a good amount. Definite lack of energy>then again we were ahead all the 1st half so that kept the place quiet for most of the game.

I kept think how much better games are at the RAC....
