Four Rutgers governing board members could lose their seats because they don't live in New Jersey
As much as I would have liked to use this as a excuse to boot Zoffinger back in the day this is stupid parochialism of the worst sort.

So nobody that lives in Silicon Valley or NYC/LA/Chicago can be useful to us? Dopey, small time insularity.

When this went through there was a suggestion that the State C/Us couldn't hire out-of-State professors. I'd imagine it is still the case that many of the top profs at RU commute from Manhattan. A loop hole was used to get the State C/Us people through. I imagine RU did something similar.

It might sound a little class-ist but it's one thing if we are talking clerical and service people in the civil service ranks. That ain't this.

BTW a key driver of the law was the Republican Senator that made the not inaccurate observation that Trenton was the only city where the rush hour was over by 4:45 PM when all the State employees got over the bridge on the way to their homes in Bucks County.

It had nothing to do with the Colleges and Universities but we're just caught in the cross fire.

Agreed. Dopey rule!
