I must admit, I never had any interest in this guy because he comes off like a complete weirdo, but I've watched UCONN play a couple of times this year and they are playing VERY tough! On the road at Missouri and at BYU (2 very solid teams) and they were in both games until late into the fourth quarter with ZERO talent on their roster. In only his second season as head coach, the team has made tremendous strides and plays with an intensity and the toughness that we no longer have. He played at Iowa so is familiar with the Big Ten landscape, and is New Jersey born and bred. He someone that has relationships around the state, and likely may want to make a home here. We could get him at a relatively affordable number right now, and if he did a good job a few years down the road would be able to pay once the Big Ten money kicks in. I'm not saying he is choice number one, but he is definitely emerging as a much more viable candidate in my eyes.
