Bradley transfer Lasha Petree to Rutgers

C.Viv, and staff waste no time. Lasha has a sister on the team as well. Wonder if it will be a package deal?

Another interesting tidbit:

Never knew June coached there.

She is completing her junior year, so could have two more years of eligibility.

Lasha Petree scored a season-high 33 points against Texas in the first round of the NCAA tournament. I believe this young lady can play!

It seems silly that 11 players were named first team all MVC this season. I like her numbers last year other than that 3pt% is weak. Looks like a good addition to the team, and I am glad we're adding her.

Highlights from her NCAA Game are here:

She has an awkward looking jump shot, but she looks like a big, strong wing who can finish going to the rim. Very strong pick up.

A good partnership here. Lasha can replace a lot of the scoring lost from Arella and Diamond. She's long and can possibly be a good defender against a D. Miller(Md) type.

For Lasha, she gets to raise her profile for the WNBA by playing in the BIG 10. She'll be able to take advantage of the wonderful facilities to get stronger and hone her skills.

I just watched Lasha Petree's last game against Texas.

She is a Rutgers type of player, she is long, athletic, can attack the basket, finish with contact and has a high motor; she will flourish under C. Viv.

C. Viv doesn't have to worry about finding a go to player next season, she found it in Ms. Petree.

After the disappointment of losing Diamond and Zippy, the adding of the 4 transfers over the last 10 days has given us a lot of hope for success next year. Good job by the staff. Looking forward to next season !
