This is fantastic. Dreamed of this for years when I moved out to MN in 2000, hoping against hope we’d find a way to the B1G.
The guy who gives us the least respect on BTN is the guy who played and coached here

Yes siree! I watched the post game show and both Bardo and Dourcey were very complimentary and think that Rutgers is well on their way to really good things in the coming years. They both talked about how young we are and the future is bright, and how Pike and his staff and doing really, really great things here at Rutgers. It was definitely nice to hear and I'm very proud of what the kids and coaches are doing.
Disagree with your criticism of Wentzel. He is paid to be a color analyst for BTN and call it straight as he sees it, and not to be a homer for Rutgers. And I thought he was very complimentary to Pike and especially Geo in his post game interviews.
You're absolutely right. He's there to be objective. But some of his comments were rather unnecessary and kind of $hitty against us at some points in the game. But I'm glad he is not being a homer. That's not his job.
Dave Revsine and Steven Bardo both have team crushes on us. It's about time.

Been saying it for about a month now. Our FLOOR is 10th-11th next year. We are a legit tourney contender next year.
The bigger problem I have with Wenzel is his cheesy calls going to commercial break. He's trying to generate too much excitement ala Vitale and Rafferty and instead just comes off flat.

The criticism is spot on. In his effort to not be a homer, he has become a complete cheerleader for the opposing team. Yeah he was complimentary in the post game but he was unbearable in game.
The BTN announcers really seem to like Rutgers and Pike, but you have to remember that it is in BTN's interest to talk up this team to enhance ratings, especially in the NJ/NY market. BTN benefits enormously if Rutgers is seen as an exciting, formidable team, as does the entire B10.
He is just echoing what the Iowa fans that posted on our board said. We have a BE background. Back in the day, the BE permitted six fouls before disqualification in BE conference games because they expected more fouling.

Best way to get local fans to the RAC is to tell em Bobby is calling the game on TV. He USED to be great. Not just because he was an RU guy but because he was smart and insightful.

Bardo is one of the best...felt that way before we joined the Big 10.
he's the best. He knows his crap. Very smart (could have gone Northwestern) and very humble.
If you watched the Illinois game. Noted how his mom was pissed he went Illinois over NW and his dad won out on the choice.

I just watched the DVR of the game. Can't for the life of me figure out why anyone is getting on Wenzel here. Always loved him as an analyst and thought he was excellent tonight.
Those were some great Illinois teams. Just had the misfortune of coming along the same time as that Michigan juggernaut with Rice, Robinson, Mills etc.
