Caleb McConnell X factor for Illinois/Mulcahy start?

His two best offensive games have been on the road - including last year at Illinois. I’d like to see him be more assertive on the offensive end generally.

Having said that, Caleb struggled in the first few minutes at Penn State. Do we bring him off the bench and give Paul Mulcahy his first start?

I would start Caleb and bring Paul off the bench. Caleb didn’t have a great game vs PSU but he grabbed 8 rebounds and had 4 assists. Probably deserving of a separate thread, our guards are strong rebounders, Mathis was a force during an important stretch of the second half and Caleb, Paul, Geo and Young all are fearless in sticking their noses in and battling on the glass. Guard rebounding has been a major strength with our length and determination.

Agree, the team rebounding aspect of out defense is impressive.
