By my math, we have 4 ships to give for 2016 and then one for 2017 (assuming no transfers).

How many commits do we have for 2016 and does that include the two "silent" verbals discussed in another thread?

What does the depth chart look like for 2016?

Thanks!

Issa Thiam
Jahlil Tripp
And 2 silent verbals

All 4 would account for all open ships, but there is so much uncertainty with these 4 plus fringe players like Goode, that it is a moving target right now

Did Freeman qualify for a medical redshirt?

Did Freeman qualify for a medical redshirt?
Freeman meets the criteria for a medical redshirt (technically known as a medical hardship waiver), as he appeared in less than 30% of the team's regular season games, and none in the second half of the season. However, it is not automatic. The school must apply to the NCAA on the student's behalf, and the NCAA must grant the waiver. I have no idea if RU has applied for the waiver or if they even plan to. Assuming they do, I know of no reason why the request would not be granted. But with the NCAA you never know.

Assuming Freeman is granted a redshirt...

Sr: None
RS Jr: Freeman, Johnson
Jr: Foreman, Williams
RS So: Diallo, Doorson, Goode
So: Sanders, Laurent
Fr: Thiam, Tripp, Bullock

2 players TBD

Edit: Moved Goode from So to RS So, per ColonelRutgers' comment below.
Edit again: To add Bullock

Barring transfers over the next four years (which is astronomically unlikely), assuming Freeman comes back as a RS Sr, and that the final two 2016 spots are filled by freshmen....

2017 class: 0
2018 class: 4
2019 class: 5
2020 class: 4

Having no ships like that isn't good...but it allows the new staff 18 months to sell the class of 2018

Not sold that we use the two remaining....

Just remember the two current verbals are just that, verbals, they are not binding. No letter of intents have been signed.

Matt Bullock just committed so that leaves 1 ship left assuming no decommits/transfers.

Bullock is this years Otis Livingston, who was an A-10 all freshman team member this year. This is the type of things you do to start a rebuild.

Are Tripp and Thiam definites?

I don't think it is awful if Pikiell tells a verbal that he isn't a fit. Not sure what I think about how you handle players currently on the roster.

Bottom line is I'd be shocked if there isn't at least 2 open spots when everything is said and done. Just law of averages, I don't know anything or even speculate on who the guys would be.

Has anyone seen Thiam play a game over the last six months? We don't know what we're getting with him. It's based on people from CBA or whose sources are from CBA.
