Can we go 12-6 the rest of the way?

Rutgers faces a difficult challenge because so many B1G Ten teams will have similar records with 10-12 league wins. For every loss at the RAC Rutgers will have to win at least one road game. The two losses to Kennesaw State and Princeton will come back to haunt Rutgers in achieving 20 wins.

Let’s do the extrapolations based on recency bias….
Dylan averages a triple double and Ace averages 24 and 10 the rest of the way.
Therefore, a 12-6 future record is a certainty.

Unfortunately those extrapolations are meaningless.
We have a game on Thursday though where if we play well we can win and go to 9-5, and be 2-1 in conference.

So yea, the Kennesaw matchup really was bad idea. Princeton to a lesser extent but Kennesaw for sure. Nothing to gain from that.

I was being tongue in cheek as a nod to those volatile fans who one minute are in the Final Four lottery for tix and the next minute are forecasting doom.
Indiana plays almost exclusively big dudes at every position so a conscientious effort on the boards will be a key IMO. Their NET may be underrating them right now.

Let's see what product we see on Thursday. Get a road win, then come back and try to sweep a 3 game homestand.

Road gets rocky after that with 4 Q1 contests outside the RAC before returning home to face Top 20 Michigan/Illinois.

I still don’t understand this mindset, win the games on your schedule you should win and there’s no discussion about anything
there was no reason to schedule them you could see it a mile away, no upside..you make schedules to make the tournament..scheduling at Kennesaw and also neutral site Princeton is not maximizing anything

they really havent done anything...they beat a mediocre South Carolina as their best win and got crushed by a sketchy Louisville team. Their 2nd half performance at Nebraska was eye openingly bad

As i said, win the games and it doesn’t matter.
I can tell you now, the players give no thought to upside or downside.
They go and play wherever the bus or plane takes them.

Good players better in big games EVERY game from here on out is big
Loose 8 and were toast
If we win 9 it's a shakedown street it not we have done its what others have not. Win ten and is who we beat and where. Win 11 squarely on the bubble and hello Dayton

12 Wins knocks alot of other teams out of getting a bid from.the big10 now with 18 teams
Only so many teams can have a Winning record in conference. 13 wins the shoe fits no worries.

I think IU will at least be on or near the bubble in the end. Sitting at 10-3 right now with an inconsistent at best Rutgers squad coming in to Bloomington must have IU’s confidence high.
Louisville owns a really nice win over WVU.

It's hard to see consistent winning unless we dramatically improve defensively.

This team is the exact opposite of what we've come to expect from a Pikiell team. You always got the defense and rebounding but lacked the offense. Now we have the offense but have by far the worst defense/rebounding team of his tenure.

If Mag/Cliff had stayed this team could've been ELITE.

WVU just beat mighty Kansas.

Kennesaw game will NEVER be a bad idea.

If you have players from outside your geographic region, you want to give them an opportunity to play in front of their family and friends. It makes them feel at ease and another selling point to future recruits that they will be taken care of.

Did you even notice Alabama played a game AT North Dakota? Similar situation. They got Grant Nelson in portal from NDSU so they wanted to give him an opportunity to go home.

Yep. And almost every poster on the Indiana board wants Woodson fired

Forget this bullshyt that guys like Bac come up with--- just win games. No matter your net or any analytics , you're going nowhere without winning. Which came first the chicken or the egg-- winning comes first.

We aren't Alabama. They have lots of experienced seniors, including our guy. We are inexperienced and couldn't afford it.

Is the goal of the program to win as Many games as needed make the NCAA tournament. If so were on course. There will be bumps.

Its a bad idea period

Right - what we should instead be doing is spending wisely on our money home games. Some teams are good at that. Their staff seeks out teams that are projected to do well in mid major conferences and play a style they think match up well for them. Every once in a while we get a Columbia or SFA type by accident. We need that to be more deliberate and stop playing bad teams away from Piscataway.

And how's Seton Hall doing?
Going to give RU a quality “Quad 4” W for its resume at season’s end. Other than that, their season’s over now, instead of at the end of the BIG tourney. 😎

Giving our top recruits this year, I think there’s always been a “go out and prove it” element to the hype concerning Rutgers. That certainly down the stretch coming up.

IMO, we have a team that is largely new players.. we have seen a team that can score but has been, up to the Columbia game, defensively challenged. Was that game a sign that the team is coming together? We will soon find out. If they get it together then 12 & 6 is a very real possibility. If we return to pre Columbia game defense then we are in for a disappointing season.
