Cancel Conference Championship Week in Favor of an Extra Week for Make-up Games?

I don't often agree with Charlie Creme, but his argument to allow teams with thin records (because of Covid-protocol postponements and cancellations) to have an extra week to re-schedule more of those games makes sense to me. He uses RU as a prime example.

Creme's Argument

As for we RU fans though, it depends on how much faith we have in the team going forward. We missed 5 games against ranked opponents; but have only 1 game against a ranked opponent left on our original schedule. That's beneficial.

But, if we believe we have more of last night's win against a ranked team in us, more make-up games would be great. Getting those ranked-team wins and no tournament at all would be better for us for NCAA seeding than a weaker remaining SOS and an early BTN tournament loss against a MD or a Michigan.

I doubt Creme's argument is going to fly; but it is certainly a particularly interesting idea to RUWBB and its fans.

It's an interesting idea; the fact of the matter is the selections this year will be more imperfect than ever before, and rely a lot more on the "eye test" than usual.

TBH, I think if RU does what they are supposed to do in the next 4 weeks, they should be fine, if for no other reason than Arella is a first round WNBA draft pick and Diamond is also getting national attention.

in her post game presser after Nebraska, CVS seemed to indicate they would try to reschedule some of the postponed games, but I do wonder what the advantage would be for other teams who have not had postponements to add another game to their own schedule.
