Carino: How Good is Rutgers basketball?

I like Jerry and I agree schedule has been soft but UConn thought they would easily beat Wagner same with Georgetown over Ark State. We avoided WTF losses because team is better focused, coached and coach makes good adjustments. Miami will be the aid test but if go 6-0 I ain't crying about it.

Seems like Carino is saying we are even better than our record against cream-puffs shows. I tend to agree.

Jerry is very knowledgeable and the article makes sense. It doesn't matter who we are playing when you analyze how good we are playing as a team. Those things will hopefully continue when the league games start and those are the important games that determine the outcome of this season. Many teams lose the cup cake games as we are not only winning them, in my opinion we are crushing them. Scores of a few have been deceiving. Winning breeds confidence. We have to get faster on offense to produce the same results in any big ten game. I think we will continue to get better and better.

In the link video I think I spotted Matt Bullock. He's 6'4 260lbs. I know he's a freshman but is he like an Adrian Dantley/Barkley type? He comes from a good program. Does he get minutes yet?

We can only control how we play against these teams and so far, the team has been doing a good job with that. I know reality will set in when B1G play starts, but I still think this team remains competitive in many games throughout the season. They are clearly improved and that's all you want to see when a new staff debuts.

As BK stated, right now he is not really in the rotation as he is working to get in better shape. I previously compared him to Dantley, I believe he will contribute down the road if he is patient and does the work needed.

Yes, if RU remains undefeated through the rest of the season, I would guess Pikiel would be a slam dunk for Big Ten coach of the year ... and even a chance for National Coach of the year.

Good to see a post from you. You have to be enjoying this start. An LCP post back on these boards and I'll really know something fun is going on at the RAC.

Pike's Peak shirts?

We just seemed to lose to everybody last season. What's a rebound seemed to be the norm. I like the energy they show. Are they a top team? Of course not, but they look like a team that will play the whole game.

Ha - if they make the tourney he's coach of the year.

Love his response to the significance of the 4-0 start "yeah, none". He doesn't mince words.

This coach knows his stuff. I know it's a soft schedule but we are winning convincingly as coach makes nice adjustments and utilizes good matchups,i.e., seeing the need for Eugene in 2h vs Niagara... it will be cool to see him address the CC on 12/15.
