Awesome quote:

"We couldn't ask for a better space than to have it right at the stadium where we were able to grow into the men we are today," Jason told Gannett New Jersey. "That's what helped us lay the foundation of our charitable work and football."

The website says Food and Beverage Included for All Guests but does anyone who has been in the past know if the event is open bar?

Casino night was a lot of fun last night. Some random things and pictures:
1. Briefly ran into Coach Ash, did not say much to him, except that I said I was glad he came to Rutgers and wished him luck. Some guy before me was gushing about what a great job he was doing, and I thought I heard him say, "I have not done anything yet." Strikes me as a very down to earth, unassuming guy.

2. Saw Pat Hobbs. I know him from Seton Hall. Gave him a big congratulations, and told him that he is off to a fantastic start and that the fans are really energized by his efforts and what he has done so far.

3. Talked briefly with Kenny Parker. Really nice guy and really soft spoken.

4. Lots of RU football alums there--over 20. Eric LeGrand, Mo Sanu, Kevin Malast, Gary Nova, Paul James, Jason and Devin, Tiquan Underwood, Brian Leonard, Michael Burton, and several others.

5. They auctioned off two signed jerseys from Jason and Devin, 4 RU-Michigan tickets with sideline passes and dinner for four with Jason and Devin--that went for $4,000 (I think).

6. When Jason and Devin retire from the NFL, they can be a comedy duo. They are hilarious, and poked fun at each other during the auction of their jerseys.

“We start reminiscing and talking about the good old days of being back here playing,” Jason said. “I think this year was even a little more special. Rutgers has gone through a lot of change and we’ve got Coach Ash and some of the guys from the staff here.

“It gives us a chance to meet some of those guys, and I actually got a chance to see some of the players over at the blood drive, and they are stoked about everything they are already starting to do. I’m looking forward to some great years coming in the future for Rutgers."

“It’s really a testament to the McCourty twins that they are able to rally such support, not only from former players but from Rutgers supporters and the general public,” Capra said.

“It’s just an amazing community that has come together surrounding Rutgers athletics and Embrace Kids Foundation, and you couldn’t ask for two classier, more intelligent, engaging people to lead the charge for Tackle Sickle Cell than Devin and Jason.

“They are all-in on every level of this campaign and are personally invested in seeing it be successful. They do this for families that they may never even meet, but they do it knowing that these families need their help.”
