So made the decision to move internally within my firm. Went in and told my boss I decided to decommit from the department following a considerable amount of prayer and discussions with my family. I told him I am flipping my commitment to another department. He follows college football and thought that it was funy and got it. Sad to lose me though.

Now the strange part, they asked me to stay in the department for 60-days, and have agreed to share me the final few weeks. This is very true, not kidding. I have to say the the two job thing is stressful. HR has advised me I have a "cooling period" and won't be able to recruit from my old dept for 6-months.

So when I start in a few weeks do you think I should open with fight or flight? And fence the department?

I'd hit on the girl, in the old department, that I couldn't hit on when working over there but, hey, that's just me. :cool2:

(well done, and good luck, btw!)

Get your new department to buy you a helicopter. It should arrive by the time your 6-month cooling off period is over.

Went in and told your boss? No video of you getting on a plane or a Tweet announcing your decision to join your new department on Twitter? Harumph.

You need to type up the whole "thank you to my old department" note in your notepad on your phone, including emojis, and post it for all to see.

Send a mass email of a video stating your intention to take your talents to the other department.

Or you can go low key an do a simple hat swap.

Whatever you do, make sure that you wear a big, bright red blazer to the official announcement.

Unfortunately this is a routine that all do, I find it annoying. We all say how much we enjoyed working there....if we did why would we leave

Remember, it's only a verbal commitment until you sign something.

Signed, last week 3-weeks after flipping. I had an in home (local bar) with the old boss the day before I signed. compelling, but didn't do the trick

Black Shoes when I did the OV

This has to happen after you get someone to write/sing a song for you to commit to the new department.

You bet your Ash you should, on both counts.

You mean you didn't include how it was a "tough decision" and thank your old co-workers & clients for "showing so much love". What are the "facilities" like in your new department? Did that "sway" your decision does your old department need to "upgrade" theirs to keep "top talent"?
