Reminds me of Ryan Vena. Nobody ever gave him a chance but he turned around Colgate football, took them to a 1AA championship game, and dominated arena football for years.

I played with Vena. Your comparison is spot-on. I must correct you, though. The 1AA National Runner-up team QB was Chris Brown, and really led by Walter Payton Award (1AA Heisman) winning RB Jamaal Branch. Go 'Gate!

Really? Not sure how I screwed up. My final three choices were Lafayette, Colgate, and Columbia. I graduated in 98 and remember him changing the program.

Nope, no name change for me. I've only been following RU since about 04, tickets in 07, and this board around the same time

I am a Cornell guy(and an RU alum) who played at Cornell and loved it when we played Cornell but I never hounded anyone about not playing the games. Rutgers vs Cornell would be pretty non competitive these days. I will live with the good memories.
