No, we really don't. First priority is to win. Second priority is to improve as a football team. Running up the score against Howard will impress nobody.
To improve as a team, we need to work on those critical areas where we are weakest. Which means working on things we don't yet do well, but that get better with coaching throughout the game. Thus the score, particularly in the first half, could be much lower than normally possible.
Howard is an opportunity. To just do whatever we're already good at so as to run up the score would be waste of that opportunity. Win first. But after that, work hard on getting better so we can eventually compete with much better teams.
