I have been reading the threads on the staff and I see a number that support keeping 1-2 of the current staff as well as a number that support bringing guys that have coaching relationships connected to NJ. At the end of the day I don't see Coach Ash doing that. Right or wrong I can't get his comments out of my mind about how he recruited positionally at OSU (yes I know they are unique and have the pedigree to do that) but I truely believes he wants to construct a staff that can build a program that he can sell and has the pedigree to walk into a recruits house and have them listen.
Take a guy like Carty for example. Good guy, brilliant from an x's and o's perspective but when he walks into a recruit's home and tells him the great things he did at New Hampshire it falls flat. That's why I think we predominantly pull in relatively young coaches with big name school, power 5 conference experience that step up into a higher level job here on Ash's staff. Just a gut feel but I don't see him solving for the NJ coaching relationship equation. I think he is gonna build a young, aggressive, highly intense staff of guys looking to make their mark. I think he cleans house except maybe EJ.
Just my opinion.
