Is that stone from somewhere specific? Just wondering if it has some kind of material meaning to it.
 
Actually the original 12 piers (think that's right) were brownstone as where the accent elements on many early buildings . There is also a relatively significant influence of sandstone and limestone . Since you can no longer find brownstone in sufficient quantity we have used limestone on RAB with granite base. For the monuments we used sandstone which is more likely to age like brownstone .
 
Most of the monuments date to the early part of the 20th century and designated entryways and walkways to buildings no longer there like Ballentine Gym or were class gifts
Our first two will mark the walkways through the honors college from seminary to bishop place .
 
Nice, I'm going to check them out over the weekend. Along with progress on the college ave buildings.
