Julie Hermann. It's that simple. If you're a coach at Rutgers, you have to deal with her. And she's a daily public relations nightmare for her university and the athletic programs it supports. Rutgers basketball's historic mediocrity can't be blamed on Hermann, though. Eddie Jordan and his predecessors have struggled with recruiting in a fruitful region. Without a real basketball legacy, Rutgers can't convince the blue-chippers to come to New Jersey. Oh, and then there's the aftermath of the Mike Rice situation. Rice is gone. But it's difficult to remove the stench from scandal, especially for a struggling program. Rutgers, even with the Big Ten checks that will arrive soon, continues to fight against the grain.

Julie Hermann had nothing to do with basketball being atrocious so any article leading with her as the cause is just a trash piece. Mike Rice fiasco did create a black mark but lets remember Rutgers basketball has been one of the worst jobs for over 20 years now. It was probably the worst job in the BE even back when Wenzel was here. Thankful to Eddie for restoring some class to the program but he isn't the right guy to undertake a true rebuild of mammoth proportions

I've been a Jordan supporter and still hoping he could turn this around, but continuing to post articles from 2 years ago and just give him a pass to get blown out by 30+ & struggle against bad mid majors is BS in my opinion.

Sorry, but we're not getting a basketball legacy or new facilities overnight. I can't imagine Hobbs is going to continue to let that slide as an excuse for not putting in respectable efforts on a nightly or even bi-weekly basis.

The RU MBB program has been mess for a long time and the Rice fiasco only made it worse.
No one can say RU MBB is showing signs of improving under Eddie, but can say the program doesn't look good in Jordan's third year and have every right in questioning if Eddie can
make RU a good MBB program.
I feel next year will be the one that will show if Jordan can get the job done or not because of what he had to overcome because of the Rice fiasco, but can understand when people point out Eddie isn't showing he can make RU a respectable program because of the way it's playing now and 3 years should give a good indication on the way the program is heading under him.
