Concession stand behind section 127-128

I've never complained about concessions before and don't like to now but talk about stupid a$$ idiocy. I'm next online behind a guy with 3 kids. There's 30 people back there 3 or 4 waiting on this guy and kids none on me. But waited patiently

It's my turn ordered my Soda and pretzels. This guy with his safarI floppy hat came and took the cash draw and the people turned their back on me after I ordered. Where's my soda and pretzels. They told me I had to go down the other line and order down there. I grabbed the guy and told him how dumb and stupid what he did was and just just got a dumb a $$ stupid blank stare back. These people that run these stands are INCOMPETENT. I had to go to another stand in end zone and missed more 9 minutes of the 3rd qtr.

Rutgers MUST fix this incompetency

I know these people don't get paid and never complain and just deal with it but in 20 yrs of going to RU games I've never been so PISSED.

To add onto I already waited on line 10 minutes on original line when I was 3rd on line. There were 2 others behind me.

I will never get another thing from concessions I was that mad

No I called him over. I'm still steaming mad. You wait on line for 10 minutes, you place your order, the guy sees there are people on line grabs cash draw walks away and the people turn their back on me and I ask where my order is then I'm told i have to wait on the other line that is 10 deep and order

Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. That's probably the biggest reason I like to bring my own water. Err, liked to bring my own water. #freethebottles
 
I have stopped going to the Concessions altogether.
Was constantly getting short changed on my purchase every game.
And it always one dollar short ( example: owed $4.00 back and was given only $3). ummmmmm...

With no adult supervision , thievery was rampant.

upstairs with the serfs, the choices at stands are simple..and people are very nice working the stands..
only down side..no damn water fountains!

That would have solved a lot of problems years ago. They should have only a few stands a game volunteer. Kids simply can't count these days, I'm constantly telling them what I should get back. Even some of the adults have a hard time.

On the other hand...wifey goes up for the rest rooms and runs into a kid that was on the team a few years back working the stand with the loaded tots- she came back with a masterpiece of tots, chilly, bacon that the two of us could not even come close to finishing. Good times for us.

BTW- about water fountains...does anyone ever drink from a water fountain anymore?

Yes they took my order. The guy in charge then came and took the cash draw, I'm waiting for my order. The people turned their back on me and I asked where my order was and was then told I had to wait on the other line.....I repeat they took my order while the cash draw was there. The draw went away and so did my order. An older black gentleman apologized and told the kids to get me my order to cover for the other a$$hat (thank you for the try) but was still ignored by the kids and told I had to move to other line

How they should have handled...taken my order and the 2 people behind me and walked the money to the other cash draws or whoever was supervising or they could have just serviced the people on line like they should have. I went to get pretzels for my kids at 14:15 of 3rd and came back with just overy 3 minutes left in 3rd. The service sucked extremely badly and was being forced to go to the end of another line when I have already waited in my lone and placed my order

Agree.

Depending the volunteer group/charity some of us might go to that stand more often.

That is ****ed up and very infuriating, to hell with the posters making fun of it. I stopped buying concession food a few years ago. I was in the stadium early and got coffee and it must have been from the day before. Ice cold and strong. I went back to the concession stand and told and showed them, they gave me another cup that was warm not hot. I threw it out. They really need to give these people IQ tests or hire professionals. Professionals would also speed up the service.

A few years ago they had these black women back there and they were awesome. They got everything to you quickly and made it fun for you to leave a tip. They hooted and hollered making a big deal when someone left a tip. I tipped them every time just for that reason

I never think twice about using water fountains and don't get me started on bottled water being the biggest fraud ever perpetrated on mankind - as well as being the biggest marketing success in the history of the planet. But if you're one of those overly phobic folks, this is for you, lol...

How do they get the volunteers anyway? Do they post want ads in the Targum or something?

After the purchase of of really bad food at the first two games. We've decided to eat in the car before the game.
 
I have a good one... stopped by the hydration station on the way out in the 4th quarter to get an iced coffee and water. ( took off the water cap even though we got one with a cap earlier)

1. The girl asked us if we wanted ice in the ice coffee o_O. Then gave it to us 5 minutes later WITHOUT ice lol. We were the only ones there but people were behind us and left the line because....

2. There were 3 girls standing in the back taking selfies that refused to help the girl in the front working alone. Im not joking ...they took selfies for 5 full minutes.


These volunteers are really bad in some areas. I never get food but once in a while i will get a drink while at a game.

As other have said on a similar topic...we aren't Bruce Johnson's Rutgers anymore.

Those days and IMO the days of volunteers manning most of the kiosks and stands should be over.

There have been beaucoup posts on this board the past few years about lengthy delays, lousy food and incompetent service at the concession stands at HPSS. Yet early in the 3rd quarter you can't resist the urge to buy a pretzel and soda from the same concession stands that have been so incompetent in the past ?

Did you get a memo that service has improved at HPSS and so decided to get in line ? Cause the rest of us never got that memo.

Let the buyer beware.

Let's add to it, if you never seen someone's spit in the fountain, you are lying...
If you don't mind or think I'm crazy- go to the men's room with a cup and fill it from the hand wash in there.

Knightmoves maybe you missed the part where I said my KIDS wanted pretzels and a soda...You see my 2 girls age 10 and 7 along with my wife wanted to spend the day with me for my 50th birthday. None of the 3 like football much so for me to get up and miss 9 plus minutes of 3rd qtr for buffoonery pisses me off when I never go to stand during game. I'm there to watch football not wait online. You would not figure missing most of the 3rd qtr being the 3rd person in line

That's what is so diabolically hellish about the service at the HPSS concession stands. Even being 3rd in line gives no assurance of timely service. I don't blame you for being pissed about missing most of the 3rd quarter in that situation.

The better solution is to find a way to not use the HPSS concessions during the game. If you must use them then go before the opening kickoff. Otherwise you can plan on missing some of the game and feeling frustrated with the poor service they offer.
