I love Al's unbridled optimism, but concerned about that post saying 5 or 6 years is OK.
Does that mean there will be no upset alerts until 2025 or 2026?
Al's a good guy and yeah smart. Love his enthusiasm. Wish I still had some. ; )

Of all the posts to make fun of Al, that was not the one to call him out. Although I hate giving any coach 6 years, it was completely rational. Good job, Al!

Let go of 06’… for the love of god pretend our coaches name was anything but ‘Greg Schiano’ and tell me this coach who just led us to a 37-0 blowout loss to Maryland to end his 3rd season 4-8 deserves another 3 years…. If so can I please be hired as the next HC of rurgers football? I would be happy to collect $4 million annually with no expectations
I have been waiting to hear if his sister required proof of a booster for Thanksgiving this year.
When I met Al up at Syracuse last year, I was shocked at how level-headed and rational he was. He's also incredibly kind. I think this post is within the realm of rational. Six years is probably one too many for me, but if you thought this was happening in less than 4, you're lost.
While it might be hard to hear, nothing he said in that post is actually incorrect. Anyone who thinks we’re beating any team with a bigger name brand, tradition, and head start on a rebuild in the next 2 years is wishful thinking. We’re chasing a moving target, the other teams are getting better as well. We can’t play Northwestern and Indiana every game.
NoMam987.... Schiano was hired to build from scratch. Six years is the timeline. You can disagree. But you'd be wrong.

Elko inherited a purty good squad. But, yes, he came in with a staff and got it done, to their credit. RU after Flood was not comparable to Duke after Cut.
No you’re a sucker. Six years on top of Ash’s so-called “rebuild”. That’s a decade of “rebuilding”. Not to mention he’s recruiting players none of our competitors want.

We don’t disagree that he was building from scratch. Where we disagree is 3 years in we are still at ‘scratch’. No building has occurred in the last 3 years. Pretend our coaches name was ‘Gus Sampson’. Hiw would you describe coach Sampson? Time to let go of 06 man
