does he come back next year or leave for NBA?? Anyone know? Or what do you think he should do?

He is so far away from getting into the NBA right now. He needs to work on his jump shot and going to his left. He continues to go to his right and that's not enough. To be a complete player and make the NBA he needs to be able to nail down jump shots from 16-18 feet on a consistent basis. He's not there. So, no I don't think he's leaving for the NBA unless he wants to go to the development league, which for him, would be a huge mistake.

It's up to Corey. He can play professionally right now. In today's world how often do players improve their stock playing in college? How many seniors are actually drafted per year? Players have a finite period until they hit their prime. Is he enjoying college?

Corey needs to work on going to left and shooting with his left. He's right hand dependent. Plus he will be a point in the pros and needs to improve on driving and kicking out. His outside shoot (3 point and mid range) will improve but he takes it to the hoop the majority of the time to his right. Floater up the middle will help his game.

At least another year and Corey will be better prepared for the pros. If Corey attains Melo Trimbles bball IQ, outside shoot and court vision he will play in the NBA. Corey is more athletic but don't see him as a NBA two guard.

If he puts a bunk in the rac for the. Next two years, he could get there. Prioritize, Sanders! you can do ett

Point guard and nothing else.

Corey is not ready to play overseas. There are a zillion guards around, here and abroad, that want to play professionally somewhere, whether its in Germany, Fiji or wherever there is a pro team. If Corey were 6'9 and at the same level of skill in big man stuff, then maybe. But he is a guard, and there are way more guards overseas than big men. He improved this year, and he continues to improve, maybe. He knows what they told him to work on last summer.

I believe we have him for at least one more year and maybe he plays 4 years here? I don't think college was ever on his mind in high school but now that's he's played against big 10 competition; you can see where he needs work. Although if he had better players around him he might look much better? I don't know if anyone is considering that?

If you put Nigel Hayes on another team with no shooters; is he still Nigel Hayes? I don't think so?

The way this current staff is with teaching, I assume it will behove him
to stick around another two years.

look at mock draft.....all FR and SO in 1st round. It is possible, but very rare these days to improve up to a NBA player.

2016 Draft - 14 seniors, 5 juniors, 10 sophomores, 15 freshmen, 16 International
2015 Draft - 17 seniors, 8 juniors, 8 sophomores, 13 freshmen, 13 International, 1 Other
2014 Draft - 17 seniors, 8 juniors, 11 sophomores, 9 freshmen, 12 international, 2 Other
2013 Draft - 18 seniors, 12 juniors, 8 sophomores, 8 freshmen, 13 International, 1 Other

I don't know if I'd say it's "very rare" to improve up to an NBA player, looking at the last 4 years. Though freshmen in the draft do seem to be trending up while upperclassmen are trending down.

That's all well and good, but I think I read recently that he was the 68th ranked sophomore draft prospect in a 60 man draft. He'd seem to be better off trying to move up the junior rankings.

He is RU's best player, but their are still too many holes in his game to make it in the NBA now. He would not get drafted.
At the very least he has to learn to go to his left as well as his right, and he has to develop a consistent mid range as well as 3 point jump shot. He also needs to get much better at foul shooting.

He already has addressed the out of control drives that were hurting him and the team in the first half of the season. His passing was always okay, but he has he has improved in that area also. If he develops the left hand better, adds a consistent pull-up jump shot and improves his 3 point shooting, he'll be a very good draft prospect.

Nobody is going to draft a small guard off a handful of games that he has shown that he can take over when there are just as many games where he has struggled with shooting.

At Sanders' height, he must be a point guard, not a shooting guard. He needs to improve several aspects of his game to compete with the existing PGs in the NBA, and I just don't see anyone taking him in the draft right now.

Needs to work on his left hand, his decision making on penetration, his FTs, his three point shot, and his assist/turnover ratio (currently 1.27:1). There are several better PG prospects coming out in this draft class, and I just don't see him drawing a lot of interest right now.

His best bet is to work on the gaps in his game and come out as a polished senior.

I hope I'm wrong as Corey seems to have matured a helluva lot this year, but I don't see him in the NBA. Overseas is a different story if it's what he wants. How long will depend on whether or not he likes the lifestyle and how much $$$ he's getting.

Why are people assuming here he's not a scholar? Maybe he takes education seriously and wants to attain a Rutgers degree . An ru degree is nothing to sneeze at

I'd imagine it's because he declared after last season to see what his draft prospects would be, then decided to return.

So now after another year of high level academia he is a scholar . Many people have it as a a goal to get a Rutgers degree, it's a good school.

Not arguing that point at all. The speculation is coming from his past actions and statements, though - not just conjured out of the blue. Hopefully this year with Pikiell and staff has helped him see what he needs to work on to get to the NBA, and he's willing to let that development plan play out.

That ratio is not good but in his defense this team can't shoot so that hurts assist numbers.

Like everyone said he needs to work on his 3 point shot and going left. He also needs to improve his mid range game and a floater. At this point he basically uses his quickness and strength to go right and either blow by someone or muscle them off to create a little separation to finish and thats his only move

Yeah, which doesn't work in the NBA, where guys are just as fast and as strong as you are, and you won't get that separation. His A/T ratio also suffers from some decision-making on penetration, when he runs into trees instead of kicking it out.

The one thing this staff seems to know is what it takes to make it at the next level. I'm sure Corey is aware of this and will definitely make an informed decision. I hope he stays and is able to improve RU.
