Corey Sanders!!!!

Is he already regarded as the most talented player RU has ever had? Hopefully he can stick around for a while.

We turned it off with RU down by 7 with 30ish seconds left. Ooopsy.

I don't get it. Sanders arcs a free throw to tie the game at 70 with 3 seconds left. Then he laser's a brick at the back rim to miss the winner. When you have lost 23 straight conference games you can't miss that shot.

ugh.......

yes, he's a player..

but - that was one we woulda, coulda, shoulda.......

He hasn't lost 23 straight conference games. He played his tail off for a game and a half worth of time. Give him a break.

Not quite. He has a long way to go to match guys like Douby, Sellers or Lloyd. Lloyd averaged 27 points over 3 season and there was no 3 point shot.

His average score and other stats are driven up because he has to play almost the entire game, while other big 10 frosh are usually worked into a game, unless they are true immediate super stars

That said, he is and will be a special player..... He does have to take care of the ball better, some of that may be fatigue from playing so many minutes..... Frustrating to see some careless ball handling in a tight game

He should really be something if he plays four years

Corey best guard since like Brodo said John Battle.

actually, Sanders looks a lot better than Battle did as a freshman, in fact I hardly noticed the play of Battle at that point

Battle turned out to be a super player for RU, it would be great if Sanders actually is, or becomes that good.

Very impressed with his ability to drive to the basket and convert. Still makes some bad decisions but needs more help.

Very proud of the team last night. If everyone is giving it 100% effort it's easy to root for.

The Sanders - Laurent freshman combo is exciting with a lot of upside. Both have really progressed this year. We need a couple more high level pieces to the puzzle and there would be a dramatic difference.

Great job, Keep Choppin'. !!!

I turned it on around then and I'm glad I turned it right off too.
No I mean regulation (Or was it the 1st OT?). Figured it was over. MrsScrew sees on Twitter they are starting the 3rd OT so we switched back and got to see all three OTs via the TiVo buffer. We jinxed them again. Sorry.

I had visions that if he hit the second free throw that we still would have lost at the buzzer

I would vote for Phil Sellers, with a James Bailey right there also..... And those two were here for 4 years and judged by that body of work

I also believe that James Bailey is the all time national dunk champion in college, having gotten more than any other player, and doing so in three years, not four...... A beast inside.

Was at the game nd this loss hurt. Sanders was great and he looked exhausted from before the end of regulation on. I think that had something to do with missing that last free throw.
Besides the stats mentioned he had only 2 turnovers and one of those was a wrong walk call in OT. Funny think is I spent the game debating a buddy, who knows much more that I about the sport, about if point guard was his best position. I understand it that he was recruited as a PG. My friend thought he is better suited as a 2 because he is not a great ball handler. I look at his passing and ability to drive and somewhat average outside shot and say he's a 1. Who is right here?

I don't think you can argue that he is anything less than a capable ball handler as big ten point guard. Personally I would rate him higher than capable.

He's definitely a PG, but if we had another "real" PG at Sanders level, but less of a scoring threat, Sanders would be A-OK at SG. We could only dream (-;

NO! He probably does 2 dunks or every free throw he does in practice. This program has produced horrific free throw statistics year in and year out. Who coaches that for the program.....Shaquille O’Neal? You have to make that shot.
