Help a fan understand why it’s ok to strongly criticize and dislike players on other teams (Davison, etc), criticize selected players on our teams (Agee, Miller, Jaden Jones, Evan Simon) but calling out other more popular RU players is off limits.

Or, how about pros ? Ok to say Volpe (younger than Paul) and Zack Wilson (1.5 years older) don’t belong but ya can’t throw shade on a $400K player or selected others in college sports that are hardly ‘amateur’ today ?

These are men. This is professional sports only masquerading as amateur athletics. But it’s not.

It’s a message board, do whatever you want haha. It’s hard for me to get angry about this considering he spent 4 years here and the program moved in from him being the primary ball handler.

No personal insults should be the rule when discussing and/or giving an opinion about the way RU players are performing during any given game
and/or season .

some who give their opinions about RU players might look for ways to whine about how their criticism is received, don't worry, just ignore those crybabies and enjoy the discussions about the team without giving them a second thought

No, no one stops me but the prevailing sentiment is that it’s entirely unacceptable, it’s trolling, and similar criticism even spurs players to leave.

I don’t get it. I don’t think the guy is remotely a P5 starting talent and this view draws the ire of seemingly everyone here.

And then there’s also the punk attitude. It’s been said here by the people who love him in our uniform they’d hate him on an opponent. Just shows how obviously jaded people can be. Not me. I’m not a homer.

I'm an average looking guy - on a good day. These days I'm fat, but when I was young I was tall and lean. I came from no money and I had no money. My clothes showed it. I was not all that good at talking to girls. Nobody but nobody was impressed with my Rutgers degree or GPA. Never-the-less, on my path a few exceptionally beautiful women saw something in me that was probably their over active imagination. In my early 20's this one girlfriend was objectively a beauty. We met at the Baja Club were a "friend" promoted parties. (Yes, you're reading between the lines is spot on.) She was a model and after our time together did some TV work. I didn't mistreat her but I did neglect her , for what I don't remember. This was Manhattan of the late 80's. There were distractions. When we broke up I told her not to date any of my friends. I'd introduced her to a circle of friends (not real friends) that helped boost her career. "You've got no say over me," and she was right. Let it go 'cause that's all you really can do.

Nah, doesn’t bother me. Is just illogical. Funny thing is, I don’t hurl the personal insults, even toward Schiano, but the crowd here does that to me. I say a player isn’t good, then all the losers rip me personally. Ha ha, Geniuses all of them.

As I get older, I'm realizing everyone is insane in some type of way. People come online to release some frustration. This is their entertainment, Social media is a place people feel comfortable expressing the worst of their thoughts, add to it the idea of being anonymous and people online just say the worst things on their minds. They want to get a reaction from people. It's like a game for those that enjoy that type of stuff. To see who they can piss off then they respond with "you mad" or "youre triggered" or "unhinged" lol. Lies, misinformation, perverted shi, whatever can get a reaction out of people. Now add to it that social media accounts are compensated by the number of views, clicks, comments on their posts. That's another incentive for people to post whatever will get people emotional and commenting either in support or enraged.

I say all of that to say as a general rule I just mind my business. lol I know my objective, you'll never understand everyone and everyone will never understand you.

Especially on twitter these big accounts use bots that mimic people on both sides of polarizing topics to bait people into commenting, fooling the algorithm into thinking the post is popular..we are living in the age of internet trolls controlling the world. Literally

Lol oh I didn't realize this was you...I can say that in my experience with you on this board. I'm minding my own business, enjoying projecting the Rutgers roster for next year. I say that Antonio chol at 6'9" with a 7'2" wingspan and according to the coaches can shoot the 3, I say those are NBA attributes and he could go to the NBA IF he polished his game and has a good year. You respond like it pissed you off that I was being positive about the kid. Even though those are absolutely NBA measurables.
I think your problem probably comes from trying to impose your negative outlook on everyone else..

Yes, I don’t think Chol will do much here. Too raw. This conference is the deep end of the swimming pool and he’s just not far enough along by this stage.

That being said, did I attack you personally?

People disagree with you and express it are all hypocrites? I think you need some thicker skin.
Not that. What’s hypocritical is dissing countless other players but being outraged by criticism of Paul and their other favorites.

no personal insults, then what you say, if not just BS tring to trigger replies shouldn't be a problem .
Of course if you feel the people that disagree with what you say are losers, maybe that's a problem, because you're the one that can't take being disagreed with and insulting those who don't see things your way

It’s a fan board that’s what people will do. Any sports discussion will have similar debates across the board.

If I lose 10 lbs I'm pleasantly plump, if I gain 10 lbs I'm shopping on the Big side of the Big & Tall store. BTW, I see you guys at games. We buy our belts off the same hooks.
Are you implying that our fanbase is on the plus side? That's some serious criticism, I'll have you know...😎

Don’t you think the fact that multiple P5 schools disagreed and in fact paid him to come start for them MIGHT give some credence to the opinion that your appraisal of his talents is a bit off?
I hate the way he left, and will heartily boo him if we were ever to play them, but the guy has size and skill.

I try to behave like my kids are still young and sitting next me. I wouldn’t want them reading my anonymous garbage on a message board or behaving like an a** at a sporting event. It’s not that important.

It’s dumb but folks can’t help themselves. I’ve never trashed a player ever but to each his or her own. Only makes a person look small.
