I certainly don't agree with the high seeding for Oregon, Ohio State, and Nebraska.
Oregon has been sliding badly, and Ohio State needs to win 20 games to be considered.

Several more games to be played and it is tough to win on the road in the Big Ten.

I agree on Nebraska. If they go 4-3 the rest of the way a 10 seed would be reasonable for them. They only have 8 losses right now. Things get more dicey at 3-4 but they’d still be in ok shape with 13 losses on selection day.

Definitely not seeing that for OSU. They have 10 losses. 4-3 the rest of the way would put them at 14 losses and first 4 territory. They will not get a bid if they go 3-4 down the stretch. Hardly a 10 seed right now IMO despite having a few really good wins. Just too many losses.

Any hope we have revolves on winning tomorrow and winning in Eugene

Need to keep Oregon out of the ncaa ….

3 teams we've beaten so far.
Yet we couldn’t beat Kennesaw and Princeton. Pikes not going anywhere, yet an early bad loss, or two, is his trademark and we have to dig out of the hole to make the bubble. Future ncaa bids are reliant on no Nov/Dec missteps. What can Pike improve on to get rid of that ugly loss early. I say tighten the rotation sooner. You guys?

Unfortunately, Rutgers is hoping to make the NIT or College Basketball Crown tournament.
“Hoping to make”? Who cares. (I know some would be happy with this rather than nothing but imo it just prolongs the disappointment)

hate to tell you but Pike knows more than all our "experts" combined

Assuming that’s true why so many bad losses over the last 5 years? Could it be that he knows more but doesn’t objectively self assess to see where he could or the program could improve? Even the best leaders recognize faults, look to improve, and delegate specific areas to those that know more.

Well for one thing his competition (and yes this includes coaches at places like Kennesaw and Lafayette) also knows more than all the board “experts” combined.

But also it’s much easier to pick out a fault in something than it is to do the thing yourself, so a message board poster can plausibly have a relevant and accurate critique of a coach without themselves being able to do a better job of coaching.

Armchair qb' s suck and analyzing in hindsight is worse.

I may have only coached at a hs level but I’m fairly successful in my own business. If I keep making the same mistakes that are holding me back, I want someone, inside or outside my circle, to offer an honest perspective, opinion and potential solution. Burying your head in the sand and convincing yourself it’s your way or the highway is no way to fix anything.

he' s the coach, not you, burying your head in the sand? That's some gall, do you really think any teams coach wants your opinion? you don't watch them practice or interact daily with the players.Your opinion doesn't matter one bit and your'e in no position to offer one that matters. Who cares if you coached in HS--sorry.

Having fun this year? This team is a disappointment but you’re probably one of those that’s just happy so long as it’s not Littlepage or Jordan. And regardless of where I coached I also said in the business I run. Anyone who is set in their ways even if they’re failing is a fool. What does it matter if I watch practice everyday. They lose to someone they shouldn’t, or to more than one team they shouldn’t, in most years. That’s not hindsight or armchairing, that’s practically predictable. I never said my opinion mattered to Pike. It’s a message board genius. All I did was start a friendly discussion asking everyone’s opinion (again a message board) on what could be done to stop having so many bad losses. Do I think he’ll read them. No. It’s just a discussion no one asked you to be an absolute jerk about it.

The season is a major disappointment but the Thanksgiving tournament at MGM in Vegas was awesome. I'd love for Rutgers to play in the Crown and winning the inaugural tournament would be pretty cool

A huge amount of the "analysis" on this board is terrible nonsense, but not all of it. I'm not entirely sure why you think analyzing something in hindsight is bad (when are we supposed to analyze it? It's hard to analyze something before it happens?) but that sounds like a you problem.

@darkcheck is posting his opinion on a message board that is made for it. He's not running into the locker room and shouting it at Pike. His posts are far more topically relevant than are your posts complaining about his posts. No one on the board has an opinion that "matters" particularily; that's what the message board is for.

Then don't act like you "know it all " or are an expert. And more importantly don't tear down the team or coaches , for what purpose ?. Your hindsight argument is nonsense, that's just an excuse to justify bitching.. As if the coaches don't evaluate performances after all games, win or lose. And the dumb argument that those that support the team in good or bad times accept mediocrity is bs. I said if often try contributing more with pocketbook than your mouth. That would truly not be burying your head in the sand. And by the way those of us who do make efforts to help with our pocketbooks and support the team ,good or bad .may just resent those that don't.

How do you know who does or doesn’t write checks, and why do you assume any long time fanatic who voices their opinions on a message board considers themselves know it all’s and experts?
Coaches don’t only evaluate player performance, they evaluate their own performance….sometimes they blow games with bad decisions and poor choices.
This is the place to discuss it and make observations

Not a bad number since I have been on these boards since inception. And I can assure you my donations over the years exceed way ,way over 6 figures. I can buy a nice home in Bergen County with that $. And you guys??

Is this supposed to be a brag of some sort? How many more hundreds of thousands do you need to light on fire before our two lottery picks can beat a 4-8 team at home? You better get started.

vegas was by far the highlight of the season. even though we lost 2 of 3, the games were against great teams. there was reason for optimism.

Donors remorse? Anyone contributing has to be saying to themselves "WTF am I watching?".

No brag but a response to you and two others' dumb response. Like I said keep contributing with your mouth and not your pocketbook. And you're a joke if you think I regret giving to RU-- you certainly seem to equate winning with reasons for giving. It’s way more than that. By the way don't you just love a guy that kicks when one's down. Me,I'm not fond of people who only supprt in good times. And don't throw back that shyt about accepting losing.

You aren't fond of anybody and you never post anything here that isn't bitching about what other people are posting.

Yes, my major reason for contributing money to a minor league professional sports program would be to help it win. If I donated six figures to basketball and this is what I got I'd be pretty mad.

Academics and nonrevenue sports are a different story but it's also a lot less clear why you think academic donations should give you special status on a basketball board.

Your guilt is showing, special status my ass. That's guys like you who act like experts and want to be treated as special since you think you know it all-- and that's my point. By the way you show your cluelessness -- where did you get that shyt about academic donations,? I give to both and by the way your so called minor league ( NIL) hasn't existed at RU until recently. I'm through responding to a duffus.
