I saw flashes of Hinson from Sa , I wonder if anyone else did too, or is it just wishful thinking.
Higgins, Roy hinson was a pleasure. Had one game with like 10 points and 10 rebounds and also 10 blocks in the game. One of the best shot blockers in the game. He would come over and players would walk when they saw him.
Thats awesome. I was not a fan until I went to school at Rutgers starting in 2011, so I do not know him.
I will say, Sa has the potential to be a great player for us. He has to be disciplined in his approach on the blocks. If we are up by 12, that is one thing. If we are down by 6, he is best going straight up.
It should be a ton of fun to watch the team this season. I hope to see Sa work down low, and take his perimeter shots as I know he can hit them and draw his defender out. That will make it easier for Johnson to drive and get his fouls.

let me turn the table here...he had 3 blocks (and 6 bounds) in 23 mins vs. Drexel . Let's see how he defends the rim going forward.Sa is a great pickup and will do some good things, but, he is not like Hinson. Hinson was a high jumping, quick leaping shot blocker that protected the rim to the point where smaller opponents feared coming into the lane.
I really like Sa, long, very athletic and good offensive skills for a 6'9" player. I think he is a great pickup by the staff.
Hinson showed very good defensive skills early on..... his talent became obvious ... ... we had James Bailey for the 4 years just before him and then Roy, eight years of solid center play..... Bailey a better offensive player
-------------Roy was taller, Bailey had more bulk but both were really athletic for big men.
I used to follow the NBA. In Bailey's rookie season with the Sonics I saw him do something I never saw before or since. He blocked a hook shot by Kareem. Not a sky hook but a baby hook. Put it in the crowd and the place went insane. Of course all it did was PO Kareem who proceeded to put 35-40 on the rookie.
there's a reason he was called "jammin james"-------------
I believe that James Bailey had more dunks than any other college basketball player during his career..... Kareem probably would have been the record holder if he was able to play and dunk, but dunking was banned for much of his college career
Bailey was allowed to dunk sophomore through senior year, recording a total of 283..... Louisville, the team known as the
"doctors of dunk" were way the hell behind, in fact he had more dunks himself than their entire team...
unfortunately, no official stats were kept on dunking....many players touted for it
never had his numbers.
