Don't Stop Believin'

Here I thought this was gonna be a positive thread ...but it's just another "whine like a b4tch about inconsequential nonsense" thread. Guess that's on me for not suspecting.

That song and NJ will always be linked because of The Sopranos.
Would kind of like if they did a quick tribute to James Gandolfini when they play the song as well. Gotta be some good RU photos with him in it. He was a big supporter of the program.

The head in the sand crowd doesn't realize that this is a forum and that there is always room to make the RU game day a better experience. Some just don't like change and probably pining for Lafayette and Lehigh in our 23,000 seat stadium. Can't please everybody.

Don't stop Believing is always played because of Eric LeGrand ..bELive. They show his 52 at the end & used to show him in the booth. I agree, however, if you are going to play the song the chorus is pretty important.

A friend was at the psu game last night. They played Sweet Caroline there. It's a good crowd song. Boston does not hold the patent for it.

Exactly! If you don't play the believin' it's just someone from South Detroit taking a train ride to a smoky bar.

Having said that San Francisco Giants aside, It's a really tough singalong song.

I'm convinced the song was written by a committee of music executives in their 50s that had this long hair pop band at the birth of music videos and didn't know what to do with them

45 second solo of a random instrument (keyboard)
20 seconds of lyrics which are sometimes the most milquetoast reaction to events and sometimes just random words thrown together "south Detroit", "streetlight people"
45 second solo of a different instrument (bass)
20 seconds of random words about random people
Repeat a third time (guitar)

And then finally
DON'T STOP BELIEEVIN'....

The song was dead and buried until June 2007 when David Chase added it as filler to a random scene about a family gathering at a diner & then ended the song right at the good part.
