Edelson-Flood Treated Like a Flag . . . .

is anyone else besides the media even talking about this thing? I don't even remember Flood having an issue outside of reading this board and accidently typing NJ.com

nobody cares about this but the NJ media and chicken littles in our fanbase. I wish our fans would stop linking these trash pieces...damned if they investigate, damned if they don't. The media is upset because they have nothing to talk about. The chicken littles need to relax and worry about what food they are bringing to their tailgates.

Hasn't been even one person I've come across who gives a damn about this story. That convo immediately gets dropped and turns to football talk.

The public, especially people from here in NJ, are sick of these petty scandals . Finally people are wisening up.

Football fans may not care, but I think the NB faculty (even those who don't follow the union line) and the administration cares a lot about what was in that e-mail. We don't know what it said or why Coach Flood sent it -- all that has been speculation.

"all that has been speculation."
So we shouldn't speculate it was bad.
As far as the faculty and their union. I'll speculate they already reached out to that professor and didn't find a major problem with Flood's e-mail, just that he sent it directly.
During investigations the bad news seems to get leaked, other news comes out after investigation is complete.

If the people that care is limited to the NB faculty and some other small groups then they should handle it in house. Im not saying you don't agree with that, but Im just saying that we, as a state, don't care. This is OUR state university and we don't care about stupid things like an email. There are bigger issues that we could use a lot more coverage on.

If anyone really cares, then the thing they should care most about is having an impartial, reliable, complete, and accurate investigation conducted. There is no need to rush to get that done even one minute early. There is also no benefit from having the AD or anyone else issue a statement until the investigation is complete.

I come on these boards to read about and talk about RU Football. I am POSITIVELY unconcerned about whether faculty or admins care or not.It is all fluff to me.,

Lawyers charging $500 an hour aren't wrapping anything up.

Prez and AD long ago gave up control in these situations. They aren't doing squat unless told to do so.

found it interesting that julie's office said this was not an athletics issue???

It is not an issue the Athletic Department can resolve. A University Policy is alleged to have been violated, so it is an HR/University issue. I would assume the AD has no control over the course of the investigation or the punishment, unless those issues are deferred from the relevant bodies to her.

paknight--I just speculated about this in the other thread--I heard rumors about someone (a prof) looking to replace someone and I wonder if she's the source??/

I hope this "investigation" is also looking into why Barnwell's grade was delayed to the point where Flood had to get involved. Was it deliberate? Was it just incompetence?

Yep, anyone who's had any dealings with law firms know this intrinsically.

seems like many leaks coming from her department
The initial leak was not from the athletic department. It was someone who had applied but did not get a job there.
And I'd like to see an internal review given for the person responsible.
