Elite 11 rankings after Day 1

I thought he was near the top on day 1 based on the interview portion or something.
He was, but that was in the finals in Beaverton. Right now they are in the prelims in LA to narrow the field before heading to Nike in Oregon.

How does PSU keep getting Elite 11 QBs when Hack sucked so much?!?

Yeah he sucked so bad he was a 2nd round pick in the NFL draft...What has Rutgers produced in the way of QB's lately?

I hate Penn State as much as the next guy but the stupidity and lack of rational thought on this board when it comes to them can be mind-blowing.

In fairness to RuWoz, Hackenberg was well on his way to being a top pick in the draft under O'Brian. Franklin did him no favors.

So last year seemed different. After regionals, there was a stop in LA to narrow from 24 to 18, then a stop up the coast to get to 11 then on the Opening.

Seems like they're just going from 24 to 11 this year.

i think they had more people in LA last year, and then 18 went to the Opening, and they cut the list to the top 11 there.

Just looked it up, 30 at the semi-finals last year. Then 18 finalists went to elite 11 finals for couple days before the opening. Not sure if only the final 11 selected or all 18 finalists participated in the opening last year.

As I recall it there were 18 in Oregon and at the end they selected the Elite 11 without ranking them. They did select Best in Show.

Have you been to state college and seen the football facilities and stadium when full and rocking? That's how they do it the shiny new toys matter and state pen has lots of shiny new things and a rabid fan base with deep deep pockets.

Ummm penn state has only had one good qb in the last 30 some odd years. Todd Blackledge was one who got drafted, the rest sucked. They could manage a game but DASSIT! RU had better, by comparison and that's just fact.

Franklin's a hell of a recruiter. He sabotaged Hack (who was so awful that Gruden suggested the PSU system broke him) yet simply reloads at QB. He's that good.

This is what I meant

Under BOB Hack had the benefit of a veteran line and NFL bound wide receiver who went up and caught everything thrown his way or even over his head. The myth is that Franklin ruined him, the reality is that his flaws couldn't be masked with a porous line. Franklin tried to save his life by trying to force him to move out of the pocket. He wasn't comfortable doing that but he would have been sacked even more with the turnstile line had he always tried to throw from the pocket. It will benefit him in the long run.

Wait a minute here! So Franklin didn't ruin him in your mind. So your saying he reached the pinnacle of his talents at the ripe old age of 18. Give me a break, with your and psu fan's distorted view of reality. Because your the only one's who believe what you preach, while the rest of the world snickers at you. The reality of the situation is he was stellar as a freshman , but didn't progress beyond that and actually regressed the next 2 years.

Fact is we know sh*tty QB and OC coaching and have seen the good and the bad. Problem is we've only had the good for a couple years(McNulty/Friedgen) then they're gone. Take it from experience, what you had was a sh*tty OC and QB coach, with a head coach whose specialty is recruiting(it sure as hell isn't coach).

#6 on Day 2 List is Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey's younger brother.

Lyn: had nothing to do with moving the pocket; Gruden said Hack's footwork, right down to his shotgun stance was completely screwed up. Watch the special if you haven't already.

Just one guys opiniom, but Lewis isnt mentioned. Not looking good for the Top 11.

Calm down, you're way too emotional about this. I agree that the coaches were also part of the problem but not the only problem. And I'm a fan of Hack's but you are crazy if you think he didn't have accuracy and other problems that had nothing to do with coaching. I know what Gruden said, and I also know what I and everybody else saw live. No need to be angry about it. Lol
