ESPN orders ACC to change football schedule

Apparently this was part of the agreement between ESPN and the ACC to form an ACC network.

Supposedly ESPN has given the ACC two choices:
1) change to a 9 game conference schedule with at least one OOC game against a power 5 team
2) keep the 8 game conference schedule, but at least two OOC games must be played against power 5 teams.

This makes sense, and I believe this policy should be mandatory for all power 5 conferences.

An extra OOC could help RU as the future schedules need 2 OOC's in '19 and '22 and 1 in '20, '21, and '23.

Not shocking. Same with the Big Ten cutting out games against FCS teams. You want to create more valuable inventory for your tier 2 rights.
