Everyone associated with Offense

Spot on. I don't know how anyone can argue with this. Bad gameplan, bad playcalling, bad execution.

What? Martin and Goodwin combined had 180 yards on 32 carries (5.6 YPC). I'd say that was good gameplan and execution. As far as Laviano goes, that's another story. And some play calls certainly ranged from head scratching to downright awful. But to say everything sucked is a terrible overreaction

Horrendous qb play and horrendous play calls . This offense is an embarrassment . Play the young guy and enough with Laviano. Please! Defense played well enough to win.

Play calling lost the game. Offense was in position with some horrible calls when it mattered

A bit of an overgeneralization? Maybe. But not much.

Believe it or not, sometimes the better, more talented team, wins the game. We lost to a team by seven points that was a 14-point favorite and picked bysome to win the Big Ten what was there. I think everyone needs to relax just a little bit regarding our coaching staff.

I dont know about this Mehinger and this gimmick offense. Snapping ball with 20 seconds on play clock. Chuck, duck, and dance offense

The play calling is fine. Our offense doesn't have the personal for this type of offense yet especially the qb. Without Grant we have zero playmakers at receiver besides possibly Harris.

It's hardly a "gimmick" offense and we snap the ball with under 10 quite a bit.

The play calling was horrendous and the inexperience of OC cost us a game. Bring in Odin and run two plays into the middle. Bring in Laviano and you run him wide? That series cost us the game. Time out management was awful.

This offense had more total yards than Iowa's.

The only knock is that, in certain situations, this offense cannot capitalize the same way some of the better teams do. But, we knew that going into the season. I'm not sure why some folks here are surprised by that.

This loss hurts (because we were so close). But, I understand exactly why it happened. This will look like a very different team in 2-3 years from now.

The play calling is not fine. It does not fit the personnel and is way too predictable. Schiano is going to abuse them next week.

Agree about the play calling. Plays were there, but the most important piece in this kind of offense, the QB, is out of his comfort zone and skill set to execute it effectively.

You can be the best offensive coordinator in the world, but if the player who's got to run the show can't carry out what needs to be done consistently on the field, then some real chances to put points on the board come to nothing.

When the offense was clicking it was effective and gave cause to be optimistic ...we shot ourselves in the foot 6-7 times...that is why we lost

Play calling was not "horrendous" by any stretch of the imagination. Could there have been some better calls? Absolutely! Those 2 runs are on Oden, not the staff, he had other options than run it where he decided to go. Laviano makes the pitch and it's a TD. Period. Time management? Again:

TO 1 - defensive player runs onto field. He was 12th man. Had to be called.
TO 2 - called before a TD. O was not in the right formation. Nothing wrong there.
TO 3 - again, O in wrong formation.

...now don't get me wrong, it SUCKED not having them, but to say "time management was awful" isn't fair to Ash.

Ray Lucas was describing play calling as excellent. Not a bad game today. This seasons games with last years coaches would have been much uglier. Ash and co know how to work with "not much", make adjustments and keep the wheels on the wagon.

I think I figured out how the defense did well. many times the QB had time.. but couldn't see an open man. While that's good coverage, the teams that kill us throw it to "covered" guys all the time. They throw to spots based on timing routes.

It looks to me like we had the perfect opponent to pull an upset and the offense screwed the pooch. Look what happened when the O looked to stretch the field. The long balls on 1st did not connect.. but runs afterward worked well.. until we stopped throwing.

We list to a ranked team by 7..with our roster..and people are blaming the coaches???

Game plan worked..just couldn't make the plays.
