What the hell were they thinking? 2 plays in a row?
Do you not like the attempt because it is snowing, or because we're on our 2nd & 3rd team OL?Absolutely wrong conditions for this.
Why do conditions matter for this ?Absolutely wrong conditions for this.
Please no. Guaranteed negative play.Wonder if they ever tried Pierce behind AK?
It's the Brotherly ShoveWhat the hell were they thinking? 2 plays in a row?

Yeah with 2 yds. Give me a break! The only time they should use the stupid play is if you have less than a yard to gain. I can’t tell you how upset I get when they line up in that crap with 2 plus yds to go. There is no way the OL can get any leverage with that formation, Especially in slick conditions. You have a great RB, give it to him near the goal line.
Athan does it completely wrong. Hurts, 1st stays low the whole time you never see him. Second, he finds the crease between the center and guard where you now have 4 pushing Center, Guard, QB and RB. Athan does not stay low and rides up the pile, he follows the center and eliminates another guy pushing. He has no idea how to do it, so stop doing it.
In fairness, it has worked for us. But not for 2 yards. It’s an annoying imitation play. If you have the right personnel, great. If not, it’s not so great.
The argument against that is that you’re handing the ball off at a negative and have to gain more yards.I want to see the old I formation
We tried that a lot and failed this year. The Schiano Shove was stupid last year when it took Wimsatt 2, sometimes 3 times to get a one yard TD. Just line up in 11 Personnel and hand the ball off to the Rutgers HOF RB
I'm not buying the negative yards bit given it's been employed to great success in the past. the issue is that teams are built for it and outside speed rush becomes a problem. The argument against that is that you’re handing the ball off at a negative and have to gain more yards.
you’re still tasking your OL with the same job, although I guess you could say the I formation gives the play more time to develop.
But it was first down. If you can get between 1/2 yard and 1 yard on a tush push, you can run in 2 or 3 straight times from the 2 yard line and be sure of scoring (absent a penalty). The only time they should use the stupid play is if you have less than a yard to gain. The Eagles have an elite OL and RB and a QB that has the lower body strength of Hercules. No other team at any level could successfully execute that play better than the Eagles.Romo on the Philly v Ravens game and doing the push:
"Everybody knows what it is - and when its coming - and nobody can stop it."
That's because Philly does it right.
Its not just a sneak with a RB pushing on QBs back

the advantages, with 2 TE sets is you get a full head of steam and a lead blocker without worrying too much on the outside rush.
just not a fan of the tush push at all

I was just trying to make the point that it does make sense to use the tush push from the 2 yard line IF you are able to get 1/2 yard to 1 yard per rush push. I agree that Rutgers struggles getting that distance on the tush push, and thus shouldn’t do it.but they can't get the yards. stuffed on 2 plays. huge turnover at that point of the game and they settled for the FG
