Recruiting Tidbits
ATH Ahmir Mitchell - Cedar Creek
Per his head coach Tim Watson, there is no current top two for Mitchell as he has yet to narrow down his list to that point. An earlier tweet suggesting that top two was made more on emotion and is not a solid fact. Mitchell is going to slow things down a bit and not going to rush into a final decision. Mitchell is definitely going to the Rutgers 7 on 7 next month and is also planning trips out to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.

"There are things that all of us around here would be able to enjoy if he went to Rutgers," Watson said of Mitchell. "He would be close, the coaches are doing a great job and being in the Big Ten, it's a platform and a stage for these guys to showcase what they got."

Mitchell's brother, Damon, now with Arkansas, was heavily recruited by Rutgers and still 'has a ton of respect for Rutgers.' Mitchell previously named Rutgers his leader, something he did not do for any other school at any point in time. Rutgers still remains in good standing as Mitchell's recruitment looks like he is leaning towards making a summer decision. The five schools receiving high consideration now are Rutgers, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Ohio State and Michigan.

QB Anthony Russo - Archbishop Wood (Pa.)
The junior signal caller made a visit to Rutgers yesterday as he looks to be the top target on the RU recruiting board at the quarterback position as of now. Russo was joined by his family and had the chance to talk to head coach Kyle Flood at length.

"I sat in there for a good 25 minutes and we were just talking about what it would be like if I went to Rutgers," Russo said of Flood. "He was asking me if I was ready to make that commitment? I said I definitely want to talk to my parents and my family, talk to coach Devlin. He said whenever you are ready, we are ready. We just want to make sure you are 110 percent committed. I am not a fan of decommitting either. I want to make it one time and make sure that is the place I want to be."

It also looks as though Flood's approach has been paying off.

"A couple of schools that have offered me have been pressuring me to commit and that is kind of just pushing me away," Russo said. "So I love that Rutgers is telling me that when I am ready, they are ready. That means a lot to me."

Look for a full-length feature on Russo a bit later on Scarlet Nation.

WR Taysir Mack - Grand Street Campus (N.Y.)
The Brooklyn junior was on the Rutgers campus again yesterday, but this time he had some company with him.

"The visit went good," Mack said. "I just toured the facilities with my parents. I have seen it all before so it was mainly for my parents. I know they like the program."

Mack also said Rutgers has the feel of home, but has not set a time for his decision. Meanwhile, schools continue to pass through Grand Street inquiring about Mack, who holds Rutgers in high regard.

OL Grayson Stover - Hudson (Fla.)
The Florida product picked up an offer from Rutgers yesterday, his twelfth overall. The 6-foot-6, 293-pounder has been in contact with Rutgers for quite some time.

"We have been talking now for a few months actually, since Christmas time," Stover said of Rutgers.

Yesterday, defensive line coach Jim Panagos visited Hudson High and extended the RU offer.

"He came down to meet and then he offered me later on the phone," Stover said.

Stover is currently the No.92-ranked prospect in Florida's class of 2016. Look for more on Stover this weekend on Scarlet Nation.

WR Ahmed Bah - Grand Street Campus (N.,Y.)
The newest Grand Streeter holds offers from Rutgers and UConn as the process is really just starting to kick into gear for the junior transfer.

"Things are good with Rutgers," Bah said. "I am not rushing into a decision. It is also my parents' decision too so I need their input. Right now, I am open to everyone."

Maryland and Boston College have also been showing interest in Bah and visits to those respective camps seem to be forthcoming.

TE Taylor Edwards - Dupont (Del.)
The 6-foot-4 Delaware junior holds three offers from Wake Forest, UMass and Old Dominion but has a high interest level in Rutgers.

"They are recruiting me as a tight end," Edwards said of Rutgers. "They want me to come to camp and see my hand speed, see me get out of my breaks and everything. I am talking to coach Ben McDaniels. He came to my school and said he wants to see me at camp because they don't have enough film on me at tight end."

Edwards stated that he will attend the Rutgers camp in June.
