Final set of scrimmages this Saturday, hosting Villanova (1 pm) and Hofstra (4 pm)

They are. It’s time for him to shine. He was a four star who was pretty highly recruited.

There is another video circulating on alum threads of SSDM Dean Scalamandre absolutely bullying a Nova middie. That position in particular went from a real question mark to something I’m close to considering a strength based on some things I’ve seen and what I’m being told.

Macheca was our top d mid last season and as of today you might say he’s third and maybe even fourth. And he’s good. That’s a really good sign. We are only as good as our d mids. No other te relies on them more than we do.

I am ready for this season to start. Hoping that first game will be televised.

Actually all the games matter starting next week.

Right - but c’mon RU has done well in its preconference games. A hickup here or there is going to happen from time to time but they should beat the Stoney Books and LIUs. Arguably a BIG team should also beat the Lehighs and Loyolas. They need to perform in the BIG against peer institutions. That is where reaching the tournament is won or lost.

IT really isn't though. If you don't perform OOC you'd have to do something utterly extraordinary in the B1G slate. Think of it like this. The season is two distinct seasons. OOC and B1G play. Both are as important.

Yes, the SB's and LIU's should and will be handled. Lehigh will be a real game. They made the tourney last year and compete with Ivy and B1G teams when they play. We beat them last year 14-12 and they return a lot. It's going to be a game. Top Patriot teams compete with everyone. Loyola, Army, Lehigh. They are real programs. Do not put those programs in the same space as LIU. They are vastly different. As they say, one at a time. Excited to see what I've been hearing.
