Another program to recruit NJ. And we probably see a disgraced OC return to Rutgers and hang 50 on us.
I'm not really worried. If they get a Jersey kid here and there it's not a big deal. Don't expect him to get top Jersey recruits. Minnesota is not a elite level like OSU, Mich, ND, or Bama. Plus it's cold as hell and who really wants to live there for 4 years!Another program to recruit NJ. And we probably see a disgraced OC return to Rutgers and hang 50 on us.
Just don't say PJ can dead lift 400 pounds. He will challenge that too.LOL. Always postive
"By Thursday night, signs pointed toward the Gophers hiring Fleck, but Miles loomed as a legitimate fallback option. The 63-year-old Miles won a national championship for LSU in 2007 but was fired in September, four games into his 12th season in Baton Rouge, La., despite a 114-34 record with the Tigers."

I don't get it. Why not go for Miles over Fleck instead of the reverse?
It's like I was saying one of the other threads, I think Miles would be affordable for Minnesota and others but for whatever reason he's not getting many bites this offseason even though he's pretty eager to get back in the game."By Thursday night, signs pointed toward the Gophers hiring Fleck, but Miles loomed as a legitimate fallback option. For whatever reason, Minnesota has 9 player from Texas, a few from Florida, a few from Louisiana, and a few from Florida. They have a decent amount of player from southern states. It's like I was saying one of the other threads, I think Miles would be affordable for Minnesota and others but for whatever reason he's not getting many bites this offseason even though he's pretty eager to get back in the game.
His offenses were shaky at LSU but he does a decent job of hiring good coordinators. Before LSU he hired Mike Gundy as OC at Ok. State, and he had Chavis at LSU as DC and replaced him with Aranda. He's also a pretty good recruiter although not sure how much of the southern talent he could lure to cold Minnesota.
because people look at how much talent he had at LSU and still see lots of WTF outcomes. he will have 1/8 of that talent at Minnesota."By Thursday night, signs pointed toward the Gophers hiring Fleck, but Miles loomed as a legitimate fallback option. And I bet most of them had zero P5 offers and no interest from home state schools. It's why what Kill did there is so impressive. For whatever reason, Minnesota has 9 player from Texas, a few from Florida, a few from Louisiana, and a few from Florida. Good call on that. Reviewed about 8 or so of them, and you were very right. Most were very low rated 3 stars. Hope Kill can work the same magic at RU.And I bet most of them had zero P5 offers and no interest from home state schools. It's why what Kill did there is so impressive.
I disagree. The out of staters were Mary Tyler Moore fans. And I bet most of them had zero P5 offers and no interest from home state schools. It's why what Kill did there is so impressive.

Seriously, the only former recent Rutgers coach I'd ever be concerned about having to compete for recruits with is Schiano. I'm not too worried about Fleck getting top NJ and NYC Metro recruits to choose Minnesota over Rutgers.I'm not really worried. If they get a Jersey kid here and there it's not a big deal. Well why wouldn't they go if he wants them. You go from an offer from a MAC school to one at a B10 school. I'd kind of think that's a given for any recruit if they're wanted. If it was the other way around, well now that would be loyalty haha.Wow... Fleck's commits are loyal to him...
... Friday, six 2017 Western Michigan commits decommitted from the Broncos and have committed to Minnesota.

Fleck is a hella recruiter... I have no doubts that he'll eventually be able to recruit similar, if not better talent than any of the other B1G West Division schools.
The Sinister Minister. If he's any relation to Bela Fleck, Minnesota can have awesome halftime banjo shows.
